Having a big year during a global shutdown is not easy, but Los Padres have somehow continued to fan their flame. These two have continued to be proactive and tell us of sleepless studio nights to perfect their craft, which has evidently elevated them to where they are now. Nonstop, no cap, just straight throttle up to full afterburners just like their latest official remix release: R3HAB’s ‘Runaway’ with Sigala and JP Cooper is out now!
When asked: What do you like about the original of “Runaway,” and how did you approach your remix? What elements did you aim to preserve and what did you want to do differently with your version?
“Well, when you combine R3HAB, Sigala, and JP Cooper, you’re going to get an amazing production. The original cadence shows how diverse they are. We are in love with the original and wanted to make sure we serviced this remix with the artist and listener in mind. We both tend to have our ideas but as producers, you have to recognize that you are making a product for everyone, not just yourself. We left the selfish producer/dj tendencies at the door DAY 1. When you keep everyone else in mind, you can deliver a higher quality products in our opinion. You’re clearly representing not just your brand, but an amazing product. Keeping as much of the original as possible was important, but we knew that we wanted to take the listener to a different stage. Like festivals, there’s always options. We wanted to take the remix to the root of the emotion. Progressive house, with bounce, and a vocal chop that emulated the original is what we felt served everyone. Emotional builds, tension and a drop that delivered enough energy, so when you close your eyes, you’re right there at the Main Stage at EDC Orlando, or Vegas, fireworks and all! We have been there as a fan’s, and we wanted to keep that emotion and energy BIG. That was our approach. Getting the approval from these guys has been a big motivation, and they know how diverse we could be. Having them sign off gave us a personal “level up” factor. And with early support from Afrojack and Swanky Tunes, we know we hit the bullseye on this one!”
The Producer/DJ duo (yes in that order) have been shredding the radio airwaves, and continue to take themselves to higher altitudes. Their follow up to their official remix of Laidback Luke‘s ‘If There Is Love’ with Raphi (which reached #1 on Billboard Dance/Mix Show) is a refreshing take on their production and evidence they can formulate relationships that deliver a bouquet of genres, styles, color, and design.
2021 has been MEGA for the duo, from official releases with Cheat Codes, Laidback Luke, Two Friends, and now R3HAB, Sigala, and JP Cooper, we may be witnessing the early hybrid birth of something special.
They have stated that they are still finishing off the 2021 year strong with a big remix release featuring a multi-platinum artist from Europe…I mean, say no more. These guys are super humbled and filled with humility, some say you may wonder where they are at times but we can assure you, it’s not far from a studio or zoom call confirming future collaborations. We got a little heads up of what next year looks like for them. With their team Total Smash, there seems to be no end in sight, in the best of ways. John Suraci (their manager) has confirmed a Q1 2022 release with the amazing Luxtides, whose last release was the single ‘Hero’ by Afrojack and David Guetta, and they are not stopping there. Q2 looks promising as well, as they have been in collaboration with singer, songwriter Lena Leon. Like, INSANE!
These master mixers know that this latest collaboration is a clear indication of what’s to come. ‘Runaway’ has already seen support from Afrojack and Swanky Tunes, and with EDC Orlando around the corner, you know there will be loads of support to come!
