Manatee Commune Releases 4th Studio Album ‘Simultaneity’

Ten years after the release of his debut album ‘Brush,’ Seattle’s own Manatee Commune, also known as Grant Eadie, makes a highly anticipated return to the Bastard Jazz imprint with his fourth album, ‘Simultaneity.’ This album features nine exceptional tracks, characterized by lush and vibrant production—traits that have become synonymous with Manatee Commune‘s entire catalog. While retaining his signature style, ‘Simultaneity’ showcases Eadie‘s growth and artistic diversity. He departs from traditional songwriting and completely eschews lyrics, creating a sound that leans more toward the ambient genre while still maintaining elements of house music.

Manatee Commune‘s profound love for the ambient genre, his obsession with all forms of dance, and his foundation in classical training have shaped his sound into a unique blend of earthy, dynamic, and bright instrumentation. Although Eadie has been a violist since grade school, his orchestral performances are often subtle, allowing warm synths reminiscent of the early 80s to take center stage in his compositions. The percussion is distinctly live, featuring shakers, bells, tines, tambourines, and rain sticks that clack and rattle through almost every track.
