Marco Weber: Swiss Electronic Music Producer & 2025 Vision
Swiss beatmaker Marco Weber found his passion for Electronic music early on, beginning to DJ and produce at a very young age. Inspired by deep, groovy warehouse vibes, he creates powerful rhythms that engage both mind and body. Now fully devoted to his craft, Marco is driven by a clear mission: to share his unique sound and leave a lasting mark on the Electronic music scene.
Hi Marco! How are you?
Very good thank you!
What first drew you into Electronic music? Was there a defining moment?
There was actually a very clear defining moment for me. My older brother started DJing a long time ago, mainly Drum & Bass, and I often watched him practice, completely fascinated. Eventually, I began digging through his records and music collection, and that’s when I discovered my own passion for it. From that moment on, I was hooked – I’ve been listening to, producing, and playing electronic music ever since.
Do you recall the first track or artist that made you think, “I want to make music”?
After spending some time in the Drum & Bass world, listening to artists like Noisia and Ed Rush & Optical, I had a real turning point one night in a club in Zurich. When Kollektiv Turmstrasse played their track “Leuchtoorn”, it hit me instantly. That moment became the decisive push for me to start making music myself.
Which artists or genres outside of Electronic music influence you the most?
The first thing that comes to my mind is Jazz-Fusion or Funk – bands like Snarky Puppy or Tower of Power, but Classic Rock, such as Toto or The Police, has also played a big role in shaping my taste. Overall, my influences are quite diverse: sometimes it’s Old-School Hip-Hop, other times it’s pop acts like Empire of the Sun. I enjoy drawing inspiration from a wide range of styles.
Do you build tracks around sound design first, melody, rhythm, or concept?
It really depends. Sometimes I already have a melody in my head, or I hear something that inspires me – then I start by playing it on a synth and build the beat around it afterwards. However, most of the time my process begins with the rhythm: a groove or drum pattern sets the foundation, followed by a driving bassline to bring everything together.
Is there a specific plugin, synth, or piece of gear that feels essential to your sound?
One sound I absolutely love is the Fender Rhodes. Since I don’t own the original analog instrument, I usually work in the box: I load Rhodes-style tones through plugins onto my MIDI keyboard and play them from there. I’m particularly fond of the Arturia and Roland bundles. For other sounds, I often turn to u-he plugins such as Hive or Diva. More recently, I’ve added James Dexter’s StemCellz to my setup, which fits perfectly into my workflow.
What do you hope listeners remain with after they hear your work?
Definitely good vibes, groove, and the urge to keep dancing.
How do you stay inspired and avoid creative burnout?
Besides making music, I’m very active in sports. I usually work out three to four times a week. Whether I’m at the gym, on the road bike, running or swimming — I simply need that movement.
What can listeners expect from your upcoming releases?
Two of my upcoming releases will be a bit more experimental, but still with the familiar Deep-House groove and danceability. Apart from that, you can expect the same warehouse-style sound.
How do you see yourself evolving in the next decade?
Ten years from now, I’d love to have my own music and event label, featuring releases from a range of different artists — music that feels open, warm, and inviting to everyone. I hope to meet and connect with people around the world who feel the same spark for music that I do, inspiring each other through shared creativity.
What’s next for you that you’re excited to share?
Right now, I’m developing the concept for my own record label, which is something I’m extremely excited about. I can’t wait to see how it evolves and where it will take me.
With his dedication stronger than ever, Marco continues to refine his sound and push the boundaries of his creativity. Guided by deep, driving rhythms and a passion that has fuelled him since childhood, he’s focused on carving out his place in the Electronic music world. As he looks ahead, Marco remains committed to leaving a lasting imprint on the scene, so be sure to follow him on social media channels to see his journey.

Promo Push’s Russell Biles on Promoting Dance Music Today
Promo Push head of promotions Russell Biles explains how the UK company promotes dance music releases across DJ, radio, press and Spotify campaigns
Promoting releases from the likes of MK, Chris Lake, Claptone, Above & Beyond, Tiësto, Diplo, Flashmob, DJ Hype, Axwell, Jamie Jones & Vintage Culture – Promo Push was founded in 2011 & is one of the industry leaders in dance music promotion, based in the UK.
Speaking to Russell Biles, head of promotions at Promo Push - we asked some questions about the company & how they promote a release in today’s dance market.
Since the launch of Promo Push in 2011, how have the range of services you offer evolved?
We launched with a firm focus on DJ & Club promotion, delivering genre specific & bespoke campaigns – across the electronic music landscape. The next natural progression, was us moving into dance radio promotion & we’ve built an extensive network with international heads of music, playlist managers & mix show hosts. Online Press campaigns then followed & we work with a range of music journalists & editors at dance music publications – closely aligning online coverage & building further awareness around a release. In 2019, we also moved into Spotify promotion – with us pitching to a range of leading 3rd-party playlist curators.
Musically, what dance music genres does your DJ promotion cover?
Whether it’s a House, Tech House, Deep House or Nu-Disco leaning track, a melodic Techno or Trance record – or Mainstage release, we deliver tastemaker DJ & 1001 Tracklists mix show promotion. With a deep understanding of the industry, each of our DJ / Club campaigns are tailored & finely tuned. Working with both major & independent labels, along with management agencies & directly with artists – from underground clubs to festival main-stages, we get our client’s release to the right DJs at the right time.
Across your radio promotion, what territories do you focus on?
Our radio promotion is international & reaches in to each key global territory. We target dance music stations & specialist DJ shows worldwide, including across BBC Radio 1, SiriusXM, Radio 538, Kiss FM, One World Radio, Ibiza Bpm Radio, SLAM FM! & stations throughout Europe, USA, Australia & beyond. In addition to FM stations, we also push to an array of specialist digital & online dance stations and use the monitoring tool WARM (World Airplay Radio Monitor) for tracking plays & radio support.
Do your campaigns follow a specific timeline?
Each Promo Push campaign runs over four weeks & we report to clients weekly, with feedback & scores from DJs / Radio and who’s listened, reviewed and intends to support. Our Press & Spotify campaigns also run over a four timeframe, with weekly reporting too & detailing each Press feature / Spotify placement we’ve secured – with direct links to each. We provide a full & comprehensive summary with the final reporting, ideal for our client’s Press pack and their future release planning.
In terms of your Press service, can you tell us more about how this works?
We offer standalone Press campaigns, or including DJ & Radio promotion – as part of our Prime Tier. From leading online dance publications, to influential niche blogs — our Press network covers a wide spectrum of sites that dance music fans read. Press release curation is included in our service & our weekly reporting is in PDF, providing coverage links – readership estimates & a full overview of online release traction.
With Promo Push delivering over 4,000 campaigns to date & working with the likes of Anjunabeats, Axtone, SIZE, Ministry of Sound, Positiva, Spinnin’ Records & Defected Records – they continue to promote releases from some of dance music’s most established labels & artists, along with the best up & coming talent.
