Talented producer Philipz opened up his catalog with a smashing remix of ‘i hate u, i love u’ by gnash and he has not slowed down since. Each year since he has added more and more epic remixes into his catalog of uploads, such as his remixes of ‘Dark Side’ by Phoebe Ryan and ‘Salvatore’ by Lana Del Rey. 2020 has been a monumental year for the producer as he released his first original solo track titled ‘Mercy On My Soul’. With this release, he showcased a unique and innovative style of trap production that we haven’t quite heard of just yet. Now returning with his second solo production, ‘Don’t Wanna Wake Up’, Philipz is sure to turn heads with this one.
Philipz opens up the single in a quite melodic way, letting brass synths stand beside elegant a piano melody. He then introduces filtered synths and rising snares that build towards the drop and it does not disappoint. The drop encapsulates all the unique tones of Philipz‘ production style and it sure delivers. With heavy kicks, deep basslines, and innovative synths, ‘Don’t Wanna Wake Up’ grabs our attention right from the start and it makes us crave more work from this emerging producer.
