Raven & Kreyn Talk New Music, Production Techniques, Dream Collabs & More! [INTERVIEW]

Following up on their massive track ‘Sunny’ together with Robert Falcon, Raven & Kreyn keep their momentum rolling nicely with a return to MixMash Records. We had the pleasure of interviewing this rising duo and you can see the full interview below.

How happy are you both with the outcome of ‘Lose Control’? And how is it to be back on Mixmash Records after your collab with Laidback Luke?
“It’s great to be back on Mixmash. We really enjoy working with them as we are already working with Mixmash for a few years already. We are also very happy with all the supports ‘Lose Control’ got on the editorial Spotify playlists! That was amazing.”

As a production duo, you have cemented your position as major rising artists in the future house scene, how do you feel your sound has evolved in the past few years?
“In the past few years, we always tried to improve and evolve our sound. We started into the bass vibes then more future house, we now produce both genres. We enjoy doing both!”

With multiple collabs with artists such as Breathe Carolina, Laidback Luke, Retrovision among others, who else would you like to combine within the studio?
“Wow, there are so many cool artists around here! One of our dreams is to work with Chocolate Puma, as we really like their style. But there are a lot of artists we would want to work with such as Don Diablo.”

When you get down in the studio, what comes first in your process? the drop, the breakdown, or the build?
“Usually, we come with a drop first as it’s always the most difficult and also a very important part of a track. That’s how the idea starts and the rest kind of comes naturally.”

What style/tactic do you always use in the studio that helps you create/finish your productions?
“We always try not to work on the same track for too long. If you are staring too long to the same track, it will be harder to keep the creative flow. For us, it works best to spend a maximum of 15 hours on one track.”

As a duo, how do you feel working together as a team has helped you creatively/productively?
“We think it helps a lot, sometimes you don’t have any motivation but your buddy can motivate you so the two of you can be creative and productive together.”

With releases on major labels, like Mixmash Records, what goals have you guys set for the coming months/years?
“Our goals are so big haha! We are just working hard to grow in every way we can. “
