Coldplay are well known as one of the biggest bands in the world and in 2014 were on the top of their game in the lead up to the release of their sixth studio album ‘Ghost Stories’ which would feature the beautifully emotional track ‘A Sky Full of Stars’‘ that was co-produced by Avicii. But a couple months later the track would get an entirely new spin on it from the big room house legend Hardwell who would inject his high energy style into it in emphatic fashion.
In the early 2010’s when electronic music was finding a lot of commercial success, Hardwell was flying high with a consistent stream of incredible tracks including the likes of ‘Dare You’, ‘Never Say Goodbye’, ‘Arcadia’ and many more. Then a crossover that no one was expecting came along when Hardwell ploughed his talents into remixing Coldplay. Despite the massive rift between their styles of music, Hardwell managed to take the calmness of ‘Sky Full of Stars’ and turn it into an epic festival banger that would get people around the world jumping.
He masterfully applied his big room house style into the track without losing the emotional core of it, creating a track that will make you want to pump your fist in the air as much as it will make you want to cry. This blending of genres made for a classic Hardwell song that has received over 30 million streams on Spotify since its release and has captured the hearts of both Hardwell and Coldplay fans alike.
