Back in 2011, Lenny Kravitz dropped his ninth studio album ‘Black and White America’ that featured the track ‘Superlove’ which was a chilled-out funk song that only a year later would take on a very different feel. In 2012 Avicii released his take on the song that was adored by fans and would continue his success in the charts across the early 2010’s.
Avicii was already on a roll following on from releasing some of his most loved songs such as ‘Levels’, ‘I Could Be The One’ and ‘Silhouettes.’ With ‘Superlove’ Avicii would succeed in making yet another unforgettable track that would maintain the funky vibe of the original with plenty of house energy injected into to make it an unmistakably Avicii track. Through this track he would hit the charts in Belgium, The Netherlands, Hungary and even reached number 2 on the US Billboard Dance Club Songs chart.
The melody that feels like it’s bouncing around your head while you’re listening to it is one that wont soon be forgotten and is synonymous with the legendary Swedish DJ’s style. Though not one of his most famous songs, ‘Superlove’ is another wonderful song to be able to go back to in Avicii’s catalogue of amazing tracks. Although he is gone, the love for him from fans and collaborators still remains as was shown from the outpouring of adoration for him following his death including a short but sweet tribute from Lenny Kravitz saying, “Rest In Peace and Superlove.”
