In 2010, Swedish House Mafia official kick-started their journey as a supergroup with their first official release as a trio ‘One (Your Name)’. The song debuted on BBC Radio 1 with Zane Lowe and was chosen as the hottest record in April 2010. The lyrics in ‘One (Your Name)’ were written by Pharrell Williams and according to Steve Angello, the vocals were recorded in Australia over a year before the release and were initially intended for another song. Steve said, “We took that and tried it on ‘One’ and it worked. Well, it worked after Axwell melodyne’d the crap out of it! … it’s kind of old skool, chopping up one vocal and turning it into a whole dance track.”
Swedish House Mafia is a Swedish supergroup consisting of Axwell, Steve Angello, and Sebastian Ingrosso. The group officially formed in late 2008, before splitting up after a worldwide tour in 2013, culminating at Ultra Music Festival in Miami. Since their split, fans of the supergroup were clamoring for their return and their wishes were granted at Ultra Music Festival 2018, but not fully. It would take the group another 3 years to finally drop new music, with their brand new album ‘Paradise Again’ dropping on the 15th of April 2022.
