True to their iconic sound, anything that Daft Punk touched, turned into gold. That proved to be the case once again, when 24 years ago, on the 17th of March 1997, the iconic anonymous producers released the gem ‘Around The World’. Using their signature French house style and creatively playing with multiple synths to create a groovy undertone, Daft Punk unleashed a true dance anthem. Using catchy and memorable vocals took this single to the next level and 24 years on, this single still stands up as one of the greatest dance singles ever created.
Even as they evolved from French house pioneers in the 1990’s to dance tastemakers in the 2000s to mainstream heroes in the 2010s, Daft Punk remained one of dance music’s most influential and iconic acts. The combined talents of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter quickly won acclaim for their unique blend of first-wave acid house and techno with pop, indie rock, and hip-hop. Throughout the years, the duo has had a flurry of hits including ‘Get Lucky’, ‘Harder Better Faster Stronger’, and ‘Around The World’.
