Released 9 Years Ago: DVBBS & Borgeous – Tsunami

Hype, anticipation, and discussion were the order of the day when the teaser for ‘Tsunami’ appeared online. No artist ID was given so heavy discussion followed regarding who produced this track and where it came from. It was shortly revealed that newcomers DVBBS & Borgeous came together to create ‘Tsunami’. Released on the 19th of August, 2013, and co-produced by KSHMR, ‘Tsunami’ took over the festival scene and became a must-use track in many headlining DJ sets.

Formed in 2012 in Toronto, Canada, production/DJ duo DVBBS have built a strong discography, which has collectively garnered the group platinum sales in nearly a dozen countries and billions online streams to date. Following their 2012 debut EP, ‘Initio’, DVBBS gained international acclaim via their chart-topping single, ‘Tsunami’, in 2013. As one of the top live acts in dance music—clocking in an impressive 750+ shows in the past five years—they have performed across the world’s top festivals including Lollapalooza, Tomorrowland, EDC Las Vegas and beyond. In 2015, DVBBS launched their festival, Mount Woozy in Toronto, as well as their hybrid record label Kanary Music. In June 2018, DVBBS released ‘IDWK’, featuring breakout hip-hop/R and B singer Blackbear, via Kanary Music/Ultra Music. Since his illustrious career began, platinum-selling DJ and producer Borgeous has taken over the dance music scene with chart-topping tracks and tours across the world. His track ‘Tsunami’ received global recognition, going #1 in 15 countries and again a year later in the UK with its remix featuring Tinie Tempah. Festivals worldwide have seen the energy of a Borgeous performance and his song ‘Toast’ with Wiz Khalifa, Waka Flocka Flame, and DJ Whoo Kid is a crowd favorite at them.
