Roman Messer reaches new milestone with ASOT debut

Throughout his entire professional music journey – and even long before that, as an avid listener and aspiring DJ – Roman Messer has been deeply devoted to trance music. If he ever had to name one true love, uplifting trance would be it. For Roman, it’s always been the closest thing to what he personally considers “true trance,” and that particular sound has remained central to his identity as both a fan and artist.

But as any seasoned trance listener knows, trends in the genre rarely sit still. Producers constantly evolve, drawing inspiration from both within and beyond the scene. While Roman has explored various corners of modern trance through his two studio albums released in 2015 and 2017 – and with a third reportedly already in the works – he’s never strayed far from his roots.

His signature sound, especially the emotional and euphoric feel of uplifting trance, has kept him connected to both longtime fans and new listeners around the globe. This February, Roman reached a new pinnacle in his career by performing at A State Of Trance 850 in Utrecht – his first appearance at the iconic event. Known as one of the world’s largest and most respected trance gatherings, ASOT’s stage is reserved for artists who have left a clear mark on the genre. For Roman, whose tracks have enjoyed regular support on Armin van Buuren’s A State Of Trance radio show and beyond, this invitation felt like both a reward and a beginning.

His set in Utrecht was a strong statement of identity. It featured a heavy selection of his own productions alongside tracks from his label, Suanda Music – a brand that has steadily grown under his direction into one of Russia’s leading trance imprints. The performance didn’t just reflect Roman’s personal style; it was a showcase of the broader movement he’s helped shape from within his home country.

In a scene that constantly shifts and reinvents itself, Roman Messer’s ASOT debut stands out as a defining moment. It signals not just international recognition of his work, but a clear affirmation that his sound – rooted in passion, melody, and emotional depth – continues to resonate across dancefloors and radio waves alike.
