Following the label’s debut release ‘Hold Me Close’ (ft. Ella Henderson), Sam Feldt returns with the stunning crossover tune ‘Far Away From Home’, teaming up with DJ/producer duo VIZE. The collab between the phenomena all started after the success of the ‘Post Malone’ VIZE Remix (26+ million Spotify streams) and results in an uplifting house groove, brilliant pop sentiments and a catchy organ melody, a gold blend of pop-infused dance music. Add to this their innovative use of Leony‘s vocals and you have a feel-good tune that’s bound to make waves everywhere. We had the pleasure of interviewing both artists to celebrate the release of this single.
Opening with ‘Far Away From Home’, how happy are you both with the finished product, along with its home on the freshly launched Heartfeldt Records?
Sam: “I’m very happy with the track, the response so far has been great which is amazing! And the fact that it’s released on my new label is an added bonus :)”
VIZE: “We are super happy to release ‘Far Away From Home’ together with Sam on his own label. “
The launch of Heartfeldt Records marked a brand-new chapter in your career. How excited are you to be on this journey, and what are your main goals for the record label?
Sam: “I’m very lucky that I get to combine my passion for music with my mission to create a more sustainable future. 1% over the net receipt royalties of Heartfeldt Records will go to the Heartfeldt Foundation in order to fight for a greener and more sustainable future. With this project I want to give emerging artists a platform and it also allows me to release music that I hold dear, it’s all about building a Heartfeldt family. “
Working on this track together with Sam Feldt has created a perfect blend between both of your styles. How was it to work with a talented artist such as Sam Feldt?
VIZE: “After Sam asked us in the past for a “Post Malone” remix we noticed that our styles work great together. It was an honour and fun to work with Sam again and release our first single together.”
As an experienced producer who has worked with big acts such as Sigma, Rita Ora, Ella Henderson, and more, how important do you feel it is to work alongside young rising talents such as VIZE?
Sam: “With the amazing results VIZE has gained in the 2 years I would call them pretty established already! I’m honored to work with them!”
Recently formed in 2018, you both have quickly risen in the ranks to become one of the most exciting acts within electronic dance music. How have you both found it is to rise so quickly in your journey as a duo?
VIZE: “It’s absolutely amazing that our SlapHouse tracks are so well received and we are happy about the positive feedback we get from our listeners every day.”
With your prior releases, you have cemented yourself into the house/pop scene. Is there a certain style or genre that you haven’t produced that you’d love to?
Sam: “That’s a difficult question because I don’t think that I belong to a particular genre, I just like to produce what feels right. I listen to a lot of different genres and they all influence me in a way so we’ll see what happens in the future!”
Over the past two years, you have set yourselves as rising artists in the future house/dance-pop scene. Have you tried to produce something completely different compared to your previous releases and if so, will it be released soon?
VIZE: “Of course, in the past and also in the future there will be many tracks that are different from our usual sound.”
With the cancellation of all shows across the world, how have you found it is to be in/near your studio for most of the day working on or finishing new music?
Sam: “We usually travel a lot so this downtime has been great to work on new music, to spend time in the studio and of course work on my new label. But I have to admit that I can’t wait to try out my new tracks in front of a crowd again!”
VIZE: “It is really a pity that all shows were cancelled. We tried to make the best out of it and were in the studio the most of the time to produce new music to give something to our fans at this time when all shows are cancelled. Additionally we played a lot of live-streams from our spaceship studio and had shows on drive-in car party’s all over Germany.”
With this break in performances, what have you enjoyed most about taking time off from touring and what do you miss most about the lack of shows?
Sam: “I recently moved to a new place, so it has been great to be at home with my girlfriend and enjoy the new house and neighborhood. I love good food, so have also enjoyed cooking a lot!”
VIZE: “What we miss most is being on the road and playing in front of the crowd at the shows.”
Q10: Ending the interview, would you like to share any exclusive news with us? 😉
Sam: “I have a new track coming up with none other than Fedde Le Grand! Really amazing to work with such a legend. And I’ll be giving away something special for my birthday this year (August 1st), so keep an eye on my socials ;)”
VIZE: “Our SlapHouse journey has just begun. In the near future there will be a lot of new music from us. Stay Tuned.”
