Japan’s leading progressive house tastemaker Shingo Nakamura returned to Monstercat today with his soothing new single, ‘Focus’. Written to help mitigate feelings of anguish and sorrow, ‘Focus’ is a testament to the distinguished producer’s ability to weave emotive narratives into his tracks. The dreamy chords, dark atmospheric pads, and deep basses transport listeners to an otherworldly soundscape, while the crisp percussion and bright arpeggiators create space for the intricate melodies to shine through the mix. Akin to his highly praised album ‘Glow’, Shingo’s signature euphoric sound allows listeners to find solace in the warmth of ‘Focus’.
Shingo Nakamura shares, “I wanted to make a song that would give a faint warmth and a positive feeling to people who are troubled or sad. I hope it makes you feel a little more relaxed.”
Over the last decade, Shingo has been a key player in the evolving deep and progressive house scene. His unique blend of classical melodies and soothing synths has attracted support from legends like Armin van Buuren, Ilan Bluestone, and BT, as well as collabs with icons like Jody Wisternoff and James Grant. 2021 saw Shingo release his fifth album ‘Glow,’ which received widespread support with multiple singles peaking at #1 on SiriusXM Chill. Following the release, he delivered album-themed guest mixes during his appearances on renowned radio shows, “A State of Trance” and “Group Therapy.” Most recently, Shingo was one of a handful of internationally selected artists who launched Spotify’s new ‘DJ Mixes’ initiative, sharing his skills as a profound selector with the world.
