After first appearing in 2021, Taapion Records’ ‘Fresh Blood’ series is now on its ninth edition which has dropped like a bomb. ‘Fresh Blood Vol. 9’ brings a plethora of heavy techno from some of the best and most promising rising talents in the scene.

It’s a heavy right hook from Taapion Records featuring tracks from Royal, Encoded Data & Dissonne, Butler, Chast & Kaltewelle, and Ultimo who each make a statement. We’re here, we’re loud, we’re the next generation. ‘Fresh Blood Vol. 9’ brings a great diversity in sound while remaining cohesive thanks to the careful curation from Taapion Records’ founder, Shlømo, who’s knocked it out the park with his selection.

From start to finish ‘Fresh Blood Vol. 9’ is a tour de force of spine-tingling techno with each track having its own unique qualities that make it standout. ‘Leaving You’ has a haunting intro and a lead synth that sounds like an F1 car from hell. ‘Drop That’ features a relentless rolling bass and amazing glitchy effects. ‘Finish Him’ has a gloriously chaotic energy that pumps through the track. ‘Fxck It Up’ is wonderfully dynamic with lovely crispy bass and barking leads. ‘Brazil’ pushes forward with an insanely crunchy, powerful kick and stabbing lead synths.

All of this adds up to a seriously impactful compilation that’s a powerful statement from each artist of just how good they are. The ‘Fresh Blood’ series continues to bring the best talents in techno into the spotlight to help them grow which is always great to see. The only thing more exciting than what they’ve made so far is where they might go next.

Hi I'm Mackenzie and rather unsurprisingly, I love electronic music. After over 10 years of blasting my ears with everything from Martin Garrix to San Holo, I've found myself forever digging deeper into this world. If I were to name my top 5 favourite artists I'd say Martin Garrix, Oliver Heldens, The Prodigy, Hardwell, and Avicii make up that list. Alongside writing I'm also a producer who makes whatever comes to mind. Big room house, drum & bass, hardstyle, it's all fun to dig into. See you out in the fields people :)

MR.BLACK teams up with Steve Aoki and MARNIK for a genre-blending banger that reimagines a trance classic for today’s mainstage generation.

With collaborations common in the electronic dance scene, it’s always exciting when a new track arrives from not one, but three trailblazing acts. Steve Aoki, MARNIK, and MR.BLACK have joined forces to deliver ‘Instant Moments’, a hard-hitting production that blends each artist’s signature sound into one explosive anthem. Old-school trance fans will immediately recognize the infectious melody, as the track reimagines R.O.O.S.’s iconic late-90s hit ‘Instant Moments’. While the updated version stays true to the original’s addictive hook, the trio injects it with a faster BPM, renewed energy, and cutting-edge modern sound design built for today’s mainstages.

Throughout the track, they blend elements of psy-trance, hard techno, and high-energy festival sounds, crafting a hybrid built for peak-time impact. Petersky

Released on LVLD Music, ‘Take It,’ is Petersky’s latest record, delivering a deep tech-house sound to nightclub dancefloors. Its rolling groove has the power of keeping crowds on the move, providing a hot atmosphere to ravers.

The bassline is probably this song’s most important aspect, giving life to the production in a fun way, while maintaining the underground vibe of ‘Take It.’ Think of the famous sound of Chris Stussy tracks, but reimagined in Petersky’s own fashion.

Simplistic but catchy, the song can be the highlight of a set. Its punchy bass adds to the funky bassline, while hypnotic stabs join during the breakdowns, tingling the eardrums of listeners.

DJ Madam Filth Returns With Drum and Bass Track ‘Got That Blow’

Las Vegas-based DJ Madam Filth has released her second track on the Dancefloor Mafia label, titled Got That Blow. Known for her presence in the U.S. drum and bass scene, she brings another fast-paced offering that reflects her commitment to building both her sound and her label’s direction.

The track runs for just under four minutes and wastes no time setting its pace. It opens with a rhythmic pattern that leans into familiar DnB territory like quick tempo, tight percussion, and minimal melodic distractions. There’s a focus on keeping the structure clean and the transitions purposeful. Instead of throwing in multiple breaks or sound detours, the song keeps the listener on a straight course with steady layering and repetition.

There’s a vocal sample running through the main progression, acting as both a hook and a rhythmic anchor. Rather than relying on dramatic builds, the track maintains a linear intensity. That choice gives DJs room to use it mid-set to either maintain drive or transition without losing pace.

More Than Just a Single

Got That Blow is not just another release. For DJ Madam Filth, this marks another step in solidifying her platform. As a resident on Vibe 99.7FM’s Bass Nation and co-founder of the Konkrete Jungle event series, she’s not new to the genre or its surrounding community.

The Dancefloor Mafia label, which she launched independently, serves as a space for her to release her own music and to experiment with tracks built directly for the kind of dancefloors she plays regularly. Her style often leans toward straightforward arrangements that favor flow over theatrics. Got That Blow fits into that catalogue clearly.

For Listeners and DJs Alike

This track isn’t trying to reinvent the genre. It’s meant for settings where speed, precision, and familiarity matter. The production is tight, with all elements serving the rhythm rather than competing for attention. For fans of minimal, high-speed DnB, it’s a track that can slot comfortably into playlists or live sets without dominating them.

DJ Madam Filth continues to approach her releases with intention. Got That Blow may not be overly complex, but it’s well-built for the purpose it serves. If you follow her work—or just want a no-frills DnB addition to your library as it’s worth a listen.#
