Vancouver’s Prospect Techno Day Festival 2026 Lineup Announced
Prospect 2026 has announced its Vancouver lineup, bringing Detroit techno pioneer Kevin Saunderson and Italian techno artist Luigi Madonna together. The two artists will perform for an extended day-to-night festival experience.
This year, Prospect returns to Vancouver on Saturday, August 22, for a full day-to-night edition running from 5 PM until late. Presented by Vantek, the open-air festival at 1201 Franklin St brings music, art, food, and community together. This happens across two distinct chapters of the same day.
Daytime Lineup: Kevin Saunderson, AWood, ZDBT, Afrooz
The daytime portion runs from 5 PM to 11 PM. During these hours, a dedicated stage, full-scale sound and production, local art installations, food trucks, vendors, and Prospect merch will transform the outdoor space.
Billed as “one of the architects of techno,” Detroit pioneer Kevin Saunderson, known for his work with KMS Records, Metroplex Records, and Transmat, headlines the daytime slate. He is joined by AWood, ZDBT, and Afrooz.

Saunderson’s booking carries particular weight for the lineup. As a member of the Belleville Three, he helped define the foundations of techno. He later introduced the sound to audiences worldwide through Inner City. More than four decades later, his music and DJ sets continue to inspire generations of artists and dancefloors across the globe.
Meanwhile, AWood rounds out the daytime bill as a local artist. This gives Vancouver’s own scene a spot alongside the international names on the poster.

Nighttime Lineup: Luigi Madonna, Edgar Cal, JP-91, Notevendown
At 11 PM, Prospect moves indoors and continues through the night until 6 AM. Billed as “built for daylight movement,” Italian techno artist Luigi Madonna, known for his work with Contempo and Planet Rhythm, leads the nighttime lineup. He will play alongside Edgar Cal, JP-91, and Notevendown.

For more than a decade, Madonna has carried his powerful vision of techno across clubs and festivals worldwide. His sets balance raw impact with an unmistakable sense of groove. This summer, he brings that energy to Prospect as the festival transitions from its open-air daytime experience into the night.
Beyond the Music: Art and Tickets
Beyond the music, Prospect’s “Beyond the Dancefloor” program will bring installations and live art to the venue under the banner “Art at the Park.” The program will showcase work from selected local artists. Additionally, it will create a meeting point between different parts of Vancouver’s creative community.

With a lineup spanning Detroit’s techno roots and Italy’s contemporary scene, Prospect 2026 offers Vancouver a rare extended-format day-to-night experience.
