Keeping the momentum, Polish DJ/producer Sikdope continues to bring the heat with his new single ‘Coming Down’. Teaming up with UK duo Duke & Jones, the guys work up a hybrid of raw trap beats, old school house sounds, and enticing vocals, sure to get the festival crowds jumping this season. Get ready for an early 2020 rave highlight, out now on Spinnin’ Records! After Sikdope already gave the track a spin in his end-of-year Resolutions Mix (featuring only new, unreleased records coming up in 2020), which was premiered on SiriusXM/BPM and got pushed by Diplo & Friends radio show on BBC Radio 1, additional DJ support also includes JAUZ, Showtek and Ghastly.
If recent years have proven anything, it’s Sikdope‘s quality to inject the worldwide dance scene with unforgettable gems. From 2018’s ‘Lost In The Blue’ and ‘Badder’, to last year’s ‘Raindrops’ and the widely popular Tiësto collab ‘My Whistle’, he’s by now a name to be reckoned with, renowned for his trademark “speed house” sound and innovative production skills.
The same goes for Manchester duo Duke & Jones, who have positioned themselves as a force that blasts out a cool blend of hip hop, trap, and house into exciting new directions. This led to several pivotal releases, including 2018’s ‘Feeling For You’ (with BISHØP), last year’s ‘Delusions’ and remixes for Marshmello & Kane Brown, Yellow Claw and Louis The Child. This year, they have a fresh remix lined up for Marshmello‘s new single ‘Tongue Tied’, and also just signed with The Shalizi Group (joining the roster alongside Marshmello, Alesso, Roddy Richh and more) so have a big year ahead of them.
As both these unstoppable forces team up, something special comes out. At first glance, ‘Coming Down’ is a rollercoaster ride of a dance tune, set to get every festival crowd in a frenzy with its raunchy trap sounds and uplifting vocals. Take a closer look, and you’ll find strong productional tricks, from old school 90’s synths to cool intermezzos and varied drops, providing this record with the perfect mix of classic and contemporary vibes.
“I met Luke and Isaac through my manager Jake, they turned out to be the most humble and down to earth people I’ve met and I’ve also been a big supporter of their work. Naturally I decided to help them out and ask to do a song together. I think the single really showcases our styles and it’s a perfect blend between uplifting melodies on the intros, and explosive amounts of energy on three different drops.” – Sikdope
“Our manager has been sending our stuff to Sikdope for a while, and he’s been playing some songs out at sets and giving us feedback. Not content with that, he decided to be even nicer and offered to put out a collab. We sent David a rough demo version of the song and he took it to a whole new level of hype, adding an extra drop and putting more energy in the build and breaks. We love how it ended up – it’s so much fun to play out!” – Duke & Jones
