Skrillex Apologises After Sound Issues During Head Trip Festival Set
Skrillex has apologised after technical difficulties affected the opening 30 minutes of his highly anticipated set at Head Trip Festival in California.
Set on the grounds of Coachella in Indio, California, Head Trip Festival brought together an impressive lineup in a venue familiar to dance music fans. However, despite the festival delivering some memorable moments across the weekend, several unexpected issues created challenges for both organisers and attendees.
The biggest talking point on day two came during Skrillex’s highly anticipated performance, which suffered from noticeable sound quality issues during the first 30 minutes. While the exact reason behind the technical difficulties remains unknown, Skrillex took to social media to address the situation and apologise directly to fans.
Skrillex Addresses Head Trip Festival Sound Issues
Taking responsibility for the performance, Skrillex acknowledged the problems and expressed his disappointment with how the set turned out. In his statement, he wrote:
“My deepest apologies for my set and sound at head trip. I was having a nightmare myself up there and hate how bad that was for everyone in the crowd. No excuses, will take the L and make a lesson of it.”
The apology offered a candid response to a frustrating situation, with the producer recognising the impact the sound issues had on the crowd. Although the reasons behind the problems have not been confirmed, his willingness to address the experience publicly gave fans a direct response following the difficult start to his set.
Head Trip Festival Overcomes a Challenging Weekend
Skrillex’s sound difficulties were not the only challenge Head Trip faced across the weekend. Day one was disrupted by weather during Fisher and Chris Lake’s set, bringing the festival to a halt and resulting in Calvin Harris’ performance being cancelled.
However, organisers managed to turn the situation around by rescheduling Harris’ set for day two, giving fans another opportunity to catch one of electronic music’s biggest names. The performance went ahead without the issues that had disrupted the previous day, providing a welcome highlight after an uncertain start to the festival.
Head Trip also faced disappointment following Madonna’s cancellation, but responded by bringing in Peggy Gou as her replacement. The addition gave the festival another major name on its lineup and demonstrated the organisers’ efforts to keep the weekend moving despite the setbacks.
While Head Trip experienced its fair share of turbulence, the response to each challenge deserves recognition. From rearranging Calvin Harris’ performance to securing Peggy Gou as a replacement, the festival continued to find solutions when plans changed unexpectedly.
Hats off to Head Trip for pushing forward through a difficult weekend, and to Skrillex for being transparent about what happened during his set.
My deepest apologies for my set and sound at head trip. I was having a nightmare myself up there and hate how bad that was for everyone in the crowd. No excuses , will take the L and make a lesson of it.
