“IDWK is about the lasting effects of a freshly ended relationship, or a budding relationship you’re building toward. You feel invisible and helpless in your own head; and though you’re not with that person, you can’t help but think about where they are, who they’re with, and what they’re doing. IDWK is a song about your heart and your brain being out of alignment, and leaving your emotions caught in the middle.” — Friendzone
In October, global party brand Space Yacht pivoted from throwing 150 shows around the world annually, to launching its own record label. Now, the L.A. based imprint is excited to introduce the first Friendzone track of 2021, “I Don’t Wanna Know.”
The effervescent duo comprised of Jesse Woods and Hayden Warzek pumps out high-octane beats that are perfect for the main stage, and have performed at the X Games in addition to opening for heavy-hitters including Kaskade, Cheat Codes, RL Grime, Nitti Gritti and more.
Their new single “I Don’t Wanna Know (ft. Candace Sosa)” is a collaboration alongside Nikademis. A complextro symphony of gritty bass lines and Sosa’s euphoric vocal tenor, Friendzone and Nikademis deliver infectious energy fit for the main stage. The single was premiered earlier this month by Liquid Todd on his SiriusXM betaBPM show, and other early champions of Friendzone include 3LAU, Timmy Trumpet, Borgeous, and Morgan Page. Friendzone’s radio-ready records are driven by Hayden’s background as a classically-trained musician and songwriter, as well as Jesse’s background dominating California’s club circuit.
