Legendary producer and DJ Steve Aoki teamed up with Splice, the go-to music production platform used by Top 40 hit makers, to release an exclusive pack of Serum presets and an accompanying “Studio Essentials” video. Watch Billboard’s premiere here and download the pack here.
In Aoki’s episode of “Studio Essentials,” he brings viewers on a BTS tour of his LA studio AKA the “Neon Future Cave,” shares stories about studio sessions with Vin Diesel and more, and talks through his collection of Splice Serum presets which took years to put together. The pack represents his favorite sounds across the wide range of genres he’s worked in, from reggaeton to trance to EDM and pop collaborations, and was intended for any musician to be able to use it and easily cross-over between genres.
Aoki added, “This is a great pack for any producer in the dance world. Exploring it is an exciting process because when you jump into different genres from hip hop to Latin to K-pop, you’re hearing all the different sounds and how it all works.”
The video short is a part of Splice’s “Studio Essentials” series which breaks down the creative tools that help shape the signature sounds of some of the biggest names in music. You can watch previous episodes with Scott Storch, UNIIQU3 and more here.
