Sunburn Festival confirms four major headliners with The Chainsmokers, Sebastian Ingrosso, DJ Snake and Jason Derulo set for its 2026 edition in Mumbai

Since launching in Goa in 2007, Sunburn Festival has become one of India’s longest-running electronic dance music festivals. For nearly two decades, it has brought major international artists to audiences across the country. Following its first flagship edition in Mumbai in 2025, the festival returns on December 18–19, 2026. This year, Mahalaxmi Race Course hosts a new two-day edition. The Chainsmokers, Sebastian Ingrosso, DJ Snake and Jason Derulo are the first four headliners confirmed so far.

Four Headliners Across One Weekend

As the headliner announcements began, The Chainsmokers became the first name confirmed for this year’s festival. Their December 18 performance also starts a three-city India tour. They head to the Indian Sneaker Festival in Delhi on December 19, then play Sunburn Arena in Bengaluru on December 20. The run continues their long relationship with Indian audiences following the success of tracks such as Closer and Don’t Let Me Down.

That same weekend will keep DJ Snake just as busy. He plays Sunburn Arena at NICE Grounds, Bengaluru, on December 18 before travelling to Mumbai the following day. From there, he heads to Phuket for EDC Thailand on December 20. The three consecutive dates continue a long history of performances in India for the French producer behind Turn Down for What, Lean On and Taki Taki.

Beyond those touring schedules, Sebastian Ingrosso has one of the strongest connections to this year’s venue. The Swedish House Mafia member played Mahalaxmi Race Course with the trio during One Last Tour in 2013. He now returns to the same location as a Sunburn Festival headliner thirteen years later. His solo and collaborative catalogue includes Reload and Calling (Lose My Mind), two records closely associated with the progressive house era of the early 2010s.

Alongside three electronic dance music headliners, Jason Derulo gives this year’s lineup something Sunburn Festival has not featured before. He becomes the festival’s first pop headliner, with Whatcha Say, Talk Dirty, Want to Want Me and Swalla among his best-known releases. His booking also introduces a full pop performance to the top of a lineup historically centred on DJs and electronic artists.

Mahalaxmi Race Course Returns To Sunburn

Long before the flagship festival reached Mumbai, Mahalaxmi Race Course had already hosted several major shows under the Sunburn banner. Avicii played the venue in 2011, followed by Swedish House Mafia in 2013 and Martin Garrix in 2016. Those shows made the racecourse familiar territory for Sunburn attendees years before the full festival came to the city.

Last year’s edition took place at Infinity Bay, Sewri, from December 19–21. David Guetta, Above & Beyond and Sara Landry were among the international artists on its three-day lineup. For 2026, Sunburn Festival switches venues and reduces the main event to two days. It will also be the first full festival edition held at Mahalaxmi Race Course.

Tickets for Sunburn Festival 2026 are available through BookMyShow, with the supporting lineup and set times still to come. The festival returns to Mumbai on December 18–19, bringing the main event to a venue closely connected with Sunburn’s history in the city.
