Swedish House Mafia’s ‘Antidote’ Celebrates 13 Years

Thirteen years ago today, Swedish House Mafia, teamed up with Australian electro house duo Knife Party to deliver the electrifying track ‘Antidote’. Released as part of their compilation album Until Now, the song featured uncredited vocals from Swedish-American hip-hop artist Adam Baptiste, also known as ADL.

‘Antidote’ is celebrated for its intense buildup and pulsating beats that captivate listeners from the very first note. The track’s opening lines, “Don’t stop, turn that up, take it higher; Take this motherfo’ up, start a riot,” set the tone for its high-energy vibe. The infectious chorus, “There’s no antidote,” became a battle cry for fans, fueling adrenaline on dance floors and festival stages worldwide.

The accompanying music video, which unfolds as a gripping heist in a Japanese strip club, added to the track’s edgy appeal. With both clean and explicit versions available, the video stirred conversation and solidified ‘Antidote’ as a bold artistic statement.

Though it didn’t claim the top spot on global charts, the song resonated deeply within the electronic dance music scene, becoming a hallmark of Swedish House Mafia’s ability to create unforgettable, high-octane anthems. Over a decade later, ‘Antidote’ remains a favorite among fans, a testament to its enduring impact on EDM culture.
