The two Insomniac fan favorites are going in on the collab tip to deliver a certifiable rave tool by the name of “Ravewerk.” It’s the first time we’ve witnessed these pair of on-point producers handling business in the studio together, and it’s a much-welcomed partnership that manages to take the energy up a few notches. Marked by thumping percussion, hefty basslines, bossy vocal chops, talkbox samples, digitized fills, and thunderous stabs, the new single between Dr Fresch and LO’99 takes old-school underground elements and completely flips them on their head.
Club-goers from the Los Angeles crowd might recall this dancefloor-wrenching tool in action during a slammed night at Academy LA, which took place on one of the last nights out just before lockdown was in full effect. While the tune hasn’t had a proper chance to be tested out on the road, for obvious reasons, it has still found its way into the hands of a slew of trusted tastemakers, including support from MistaJam’s Dance Anthems (BBC Radio 1), Pasquale’s Night Owl Radio (Insomniac Radio), Aston Shuffle’s Friday Night Shuffle (Triple J), and many more.
“Three years, several beers and a lot of miles between warehouses in Los Angeles and Sydney till we finished this badboi back and forth,” says LO’99 and Dr Fresch. “But we figured out a way to keep everyone raving at home and about… please meet ‘Ravewerk!’ We’re both close mates and have done many shows together, so it was inevitable we’d get a tune poppin’. ‘Ravewerk’ is a perfect example of both our vibes coming together in one solid jam.” Over the years, both of these innovative artists have become familiar faces across the Insomniac Music Group family. On top of heading up his own imprint under the Insomniac umbrella, Los Angeles’ Dr Fresch is holding onto a number of quality cuts on Insomniac’s flagship label. On the opposite end, the hustling Aussie producer LO’99 has enjoyed a couple of stints on IN / ROTATION, as well as an appearance on the official ‘EDC Las Vegas 2018’ compilation. With “Ravewerk,” the boys put in some serious work to deliver a finely-tuned groove that is guaranteed to keep the digital dancefloors going into overtime.
