With the rise of social media, creating an anonymous alias within the electronic dance music scene can be very difficult. Recently we had KSHMR who was quickly revealed as Niles Hollowell-Dhar from The Cataracs along with the masked producer Marshmello, which has not been confirmed, but many know him as Christopher Comstock, formerly known under the name of Dotcom. Releasing music under the name of “K9“, this anonymous producer has been treating us to bass house gems since July of 2018.
After a short hiatus of 7 months without releasing under this name, K9 is finally back and he does not disappoint, delivering yet another bass house gem with groove influences that keeps his sound fresh. The track kicks off at a high tempo with rhythmic sounds and samples that set an energetic yet funky tone. As we head towards the first drop, K9 calms things down with a catchy vocal sample which builds tension towards the drop. The first drop hits with a powerful and groovy bass line that is joined by an infectious chopped vocal top line that puts this track on another level. As the track progresses, K9 shows off his melodic side with a piano melody for the second break down before heading towards the second drop. He then adds more and more electro-infused sounds into the second drop that brings us back to the sound we’ve come to love from this anonymous producer.
