Since their chart-topping album ‘World War Joy’ was released back in 2019, which included international hits such as ‘Takeaway’ with ILLENIUM and Lennon Stella and ‘Call You Mine’ featuring Bebe Rexha, The Chainsmokers have kept things relatively quiet. They even announced a hiatus from social media back in early 2020 to work on their fourth LP, so fans rightfully theorized that new music from the dance-pop duo wasn’t on the immediate horizon.
The celebrated duo however just unexpectedly unveiled new music, and 2022 is looking like it will be the year they will make their return in full force. Described as a “gift for your patience,” The Chainsmokers just shared their first remix in 7 years, taking on Bon Iver’s 2011 cover of Bonnie Raitt’s 1991 hit ‘I Can’t Make You Love Me’. The exciting new remix, which can only be found under a private link on The Chainsmokers’ SoundCloud profile, follows a minimal, ethereal house approach, so it will be exciting to see whether they stick to that sound for their forthcoming official releases.
