2018 was a massive year if you are a fan of multiple electronic music genres as there have been a ton of artists killing it in each genre. From Trance to Trap, Big Room House to Future House, each genre has seen multiple releases from many artists around the world. We take a trip down memory lane by counting down our top 7 artists of 2018!

HONORABLE MENTIONS: Illenium, Calvin Harris, Da Tweekaz, Fisher, Marshmello, Skrillex, Gryffin, Kygo, Arty, Armin Van Buuren

01. HARDWELL

A little over 3 months ago, Hardwell announced that he would stop touring indefinitely and his final show would be at ADE. But since then Hardwell has not showed any signs of slowing down as he released a total of 20 tracks this year. 20 quality tracks alone means he has earned a spot on this list.

02. DON DIABLO

The ever so popular Dutch artist Don Diablo has seen a solid rise in popularity over the years, and 2018 was no different. Starting the year of with an epic album release with ‘Future’. He continued the year as he started it, with more and more epic releases including ‘I Got Love’, ‘Heaven To Me’, ‘No Good’  and others. It’s no surprise to see Don Diablo on this list.

03. MARTIN GARRIX

What can be said about the #1 DJ in the world today? During 2017 he took a small step away from club bangers to experiment with radio friendly tracks such as ‘There For You’, ‘Scared To Be Lonely’  and others. Many of his fans were expecting the same within 2018 but he shocked us by giving us a total of 10 main stage anthems through out the year. Releasing tracks such as ‘Breach’, ‘Burn Out’, ‘High On Life’, ‘Like I Do’  and the much anticipated ‘Waiting For Tomorrow’, along with radio friendly track ‘Ocean’, Martin Garrix proved why he was voted #1 DJ in the world.

04. MIKE WILLIAMS

We take a step over to the Future House section of the EDM scene and no one has stood out to us like Mike Williams has this year. Securing a solid spot of #66 in the DJ Mag Top 100 poll, Mike Williams has seen a steady rise in popularity this year. Releasing hits such as ‘Lullaby’, ‘Feels Like Yesterday’, ‘Give It Up’, ‘Wait Another Day’ and premiering an incredible collaboration with Hardwell. Mike Williams was a stand out talent in the Future House genre.

05. ILAN BLUESTONE

From Future House to Trance, we take a look at an incredible year for UK talent Ilan Bluestone. At the start of the year he released his very first album ‘Scars’  which featured hits ‘Frozen Ground’, ‘Will We Remain’, ‘Let Me Know’  and many more. Setting himself up for an incredible 2019 with many new tracks still to come out, it’s no shock to see him on this list.

06. HEADHUNTERZ

We head over to the Hardstyle section of the scene and the first name that springs to mind would be none other than Headhunterz. During the past couple of years, Hardstyle fans had to look at that name and be sad as he left their beloved genre to experiment new sounds but during 2018 he made his well awaited return with his massive album ‘The Return Of Headhunterz’. Along with releasing some solo singles and within the Project One alias, Hardstyle fans have a lot to look forward to in 2019 as there is a ton of awesome music coming soon.

07. AVICII

Even though he never released a single during 2018 and unfortunately passed away towards the start of the year. Google recently revealed that Avicii was the 2nd most Google’d search of 2018 and that is a big deal. His music has left a lasting legacy for years to come and with the constant rumors of unreleased music possibly seeing the light of day, we dedicate the last place on this list to the Swedish legend Avicii. R.I.P.
