Tropcy is a French artist born and raised in Paris who has always been interested in music. He started to record radio shows on his first hi-fi system at the age of ten and later began mixing at the age of 15. He began to practice every day, first on his laptop, then on a controller, and eventually with multiple racks. This wasn’t enough as the French producer wanted to create his own musical universe, so he began to produce his own music, practicing and learning all he could about production.
Still searching to expand his comprehension of sound, Tropcy also worked in multiple studios and collaborated on some movies. Making live appearances, recording and diffusing different musical genres (classical, punk, reggae) and practicing in different studios, he made sure to experience as many aspects of sound as possible. “I was used to mix at parties for friends, on boats or on The Champs Elysées in public before I was 18. But I knew it wasn’t enough, I needed time to learn more! I find it truly inspiring to work on different domains with people of all sorts. It makes you grow. Every day I get amazed by those who create the vibe people need to escape. The crowd going crazy, having an incredible time, just letting themselves go with the music. It is just about music, a common shared passion, and I find this perfect!” said Tropcy.
For his latest release, Tropcy unveils a 4-track EP filled to the brim with high-quality productions. The EP, which kicks off with ‘Friendly Robots’, shows off the creativity and talent that his producer has. The first single brings the EP to live with a high energy hard-hitting production. Tropcy then moves on to the second single which incorporates that hard-hitting style introduced at the beginning but with a hint of a melodic side. As we move onto ‘Escaped’, the French producer delivers a wonderfully uplifting progressive single that gets us prepared for the final single. The EP is then topped off perfectly with another big room festival-inspired production entitled ‘Chaines’.
