2020 kicked off just like any other year. With the festival season approaching, DJs were being confirmed for the biggest festivals across the globe, such as Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival, Coachella, Creamfields, Amsterdam Dance Event, EDC and more. 2020 then took a turn for the worst as a global pandemic hit, COVID-19, and destroyed all hopes of the festival season. With the cancellation of all shows across the world, many DJs began to live stream online, delivering their fresh dose of music medicine to viewers in the comfort of their own homes. This then led to many DJs taking it up a notch and posting special sets, most notably, Don Diablo from his own swimming pool (view here), Martin Garrix from Dutch waters (view here), W&W creating their own virtual performance (view here), and many more. Tomorrowland have even announced their own virtual online 2-day festival which is set to take place in less than 2 weeks!
Although the live shows have stopped, DJs are now finding more and more unique ways to perform. This means that the popular voting competition, the DJ Mag Top 100 can also begin. Past winners, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, are set to perform on the upcoming online Tomorrowland festival, along with the top 10 placed Martin Garrix, David Guetta, Armin van Buuren, Don Diablo, Oliver Heldens, Tiesto, Afrojack, and Steve Aoki. With a number of DJs campaigning for your votes, along with many more still getting the performances up via online live streams, voting for the DJ Mag Top 100 has never been more relevant!
