Making waves across the UK with their timeless and titillating club focused music, the mysterious DJ/Producer duo Wh0, release their first single on Spinnin’ Deep. ‘Chinatown’ is built around a glorious disco sample that emotes serious nostalgia and begs listeners to hold their vinyl collection close. Inspired by the likes of the viral hit ‘Barbara Streisand’ by Duck Sauce, the UK duo Wh0 are already seducing some of house music’s biggest players. Decked in black masks to protect their anonymity, ‘Chinatown’ illustrates their abundant ability to innovate while paying homage to an iconic musical era.]
Expressing Deep House at its finest with a strong understanding of Disco heritage, UK duo Wh0 release ‘Chinatown’. Funk-filled, retro infused stabs and synths highlight the very best of the beloved 70’s dance signatures. Effervescent violin and piano chords break and rotate mimicking the sentimental sound of vinyl spins on a record player. Dazzling bass rhythms make it impossible not to delight and dance to the groove. Timeless and playful, Wh0 have an exceptional ability to blend contemporary and classic elements, proving them a force to be reckoned with.
“We wanted to do a track with a Disco sample with a big hook/chorus. Big inspiration came from ‘Duck Sauce – Barbra Streisand’. We went in the loft and started looking for the record and found the Amanda Lear – Queen Of China-Town vinyl! We loved the hook and the vibe!”— explains Wh0
