What Happened To: David Guetta – Zombie

David Guetta has been on the top of the electronic music scene for almost 30 years and he released a multitude of albums such as ‘One Love’, ‘Nothing But The Beat’, and the most recent one, ‘Seven’. He is an ever-present name also in the pop culture, he worked with a couple of big and influential names such as Justin Bieber, Madison Beer, and many more. Today, I would like to talk about an unreleased ID from the 53-year-old French superstar. This very ID is called ‘Zombie’ and it was premiered at AMF 2018 in his 2= 1 set together with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and then as his intro at Ultra Music Festival Miami 2019.

‘Zombie’ was a follow-up of ‘Bad’, a massive collaboration with the Dutch brothers Showtek featuring Australian singer/songwriter, Vassy. ‘Zombie’ was played only at the two aforementioned festivals and not a single time after. In the beginning, a huge echo of church bells gave a chill introduction to the listeners followed by electro acid breaks. Guetta mentioned to the Ultra that this would be his brand new single expected to be released somewhere in the summer or autumn of 2019. The drop was reminiscent of one of Tiesto’s successful big room tracks, ‘WOW’ since the main drop lead is almost identical. According to 1001tracklists, the very same intro of David Guetta’s Ultra Miami 2019 was believed to be a collaboration between him and the Dutch legend, Tiesto. Since these two have never worked on a track before, I felt that this was the right time to make something noteworthy for their fans as a lot of them wanted this same collaboration to happen and ‘Zombie’ would for sure be one of the biggest collaborations of 2019.

Sadly, the track probably won’t happen because we don’t know what exactly happened to it. David Guetta continuously works on his brand new EDM craze, Future Rave, together with Morten so I myself believe that if the track ever gets the chance to be released it will be treated by a Future Rave flavor.
