Known to all within the electronic dance music scene as the biggest nightclub in the world, BigCityBeats WORLD CLUB DOME is certainly one of the biggest and best stops on the European festival season tour. In 2019, WORLD CLUB DOME welcomed thousands of clubbers to embrace their inner party animals with massive sets from the likes of Armin van Buuren, David Guetta, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Marshmello, Steve Aoki, and Timmy Trumpet just to name a few. Always one to go bigger and better with each and every edition, 2020 was set to be a monumental edition that unfortunately had to be postponed. Now after a 3-year break, BigCityBeats were ready to make the 2022 edition of WORLD CLUB DOME their biggest yet.
With the idea of making this edition larger than life, CEO and founder of BigCityBeats and WORLD CLUB DOME, Bernd Breiter, created a Las Vegas theme, perfectly encapsulating what was in store for the clubbers. With this theme, the stage was set for a sin city infused weekend and that was exquisitely designed all throughout the festival grounds, with poker chips, dancers, a walk of fame, and even some helicopter entrances for the DJs.
Speaking of DJs, this edition of WORLD CLUB DOME played host to over 200 acts across 3 days. With over 10 stages across the festival grounds, it was not hard for each act to have their own spotlight while clubbers could find all of their tastes were pleased due to the diversity of the lineup and its acts. Mainstage acts such as Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, DJ Snake, David Guetta, deadmau5, W&W, Nicky Romero, and Timmy Trumpet lit up the stadium. At the same time, KSHMR, Robin Schulz, Blasterjaxx, Scooter, James Hype, MORTEN, and Juicy M graced the outside mainstage. Fans of the harder side of dance music were treated to banging sets from Headhunterz, Da Tweekaz, Angerfist, Coone, and Sub Zero Project, among others.
The diversity doesn’t stop there as the underground was more than represented by acts such as Adam Beyer, Boris Brejcha,Claptone, Honey Dijon, Hot Since 82, Jamie Jones, Loco Dice, Pan-Pot, Stella Bossi, and Sven Vath. In short, there was no way for any fan of dance music to feel out of place with how many acts there was to offer during the 2022 edition of WORLD CLUB DOME.
As if things couldn’t get crazier, CEO and founder of BigCityBeats and WORLD CLUB DOME, Bernd Breiter created the SPACE CLUB KITCHEN. A concept that once seemed to be impossible was now brought to life, together with astronaut Matthias Maurer and chef Tim Mälzer. The trio came together as one, creating a timeless event that combined music, space, and food as thousands of viewers took part at home.
“When I was a small boy, I dreamed of making music together with an orchestra, I also dreamed of becoming an astronaut. When this small boy grew up he also dreamed of becoming a chef. During the last three days, I have achieved every one of these dreams. And this little boy has grown, and in doing so has been able to fully realise all his dreams, thanks to many many wonderful people. The metamorphosis of the two universal languages of music and cuisine brings people together and is particularly important during this current time. All of this has formed into a complete work this weekend, as it has never existed in this form before – from outer space to the deep sea. And that combined with the many thousands and thousands of beaming faces, all happy and enjoying themselves connected by the power of music,” said Bernd Breiter
The vibes during the festival were also on another level. With over 180,000 electronic music fans from over 70 countries enjoying the music that was on show for 3 days, it was hard not to fully immerse yourself into the surroundings and find yourself partying like there was no tomorrow. Fans won’t have to wait too long for the next event as they can already look forward to the “Winter Edition” of the BigCityBeats WORLD CLUB DOME on December 16th and 17th, 2022 in Düsseldorf. The Frankfurt return of the “Biggest Club in the World” is also already scheduled, as the “Atlantis Edition” is set to take place from June 9th to 11th, 2023 in Frankfurt.
