Yuuki Yoshiyama: The Visionary Behind Japan’s Evolving Music and Entertainment Scene

Yuuki Yoshiyama is a name that resonates not just in Japan, but across the global music and entertainment industry. With a career spanning more than 29 years, he has become a leading figure in Japan’s electronic music scene while building a wide-ranging portfolio that blends music, event production, and business development. Since starting out in 1996, Yuuki has performed in over 15 countries, including the United States, UK, Spain, Thailand, China, Singapore, and Indonesia, showcasing his sound to a global audience.

Known for his ability to effortlessly switch between tech house, house, techno, and trance, Yuuki has earned the nickname “Tech Maestro” for good reason. He has supported over 50 artists from the DJ Mag Top 100 and collaborated with some of the biggest names in the industry, such as Eric Prydz, FISHER, Mark Knight, Bob Sinclar, and MEDUZA. His international appearances include being the only Japanese artist to play at EDC Las Vegas in both 2018 and 2019, where he delivered unforgettable sets to crowds of more than 400,000 people.

Yuuki’s original music has also made waves. His track ‘Trickster’ reached the Top 10 on TraxSource, while ‘Tiger Beetle’ gained traction worldwide. His recent release ‘Rise Up’, out on Toolroom Records, continues to energize dance floors across the globe. As a promoter and curator, he launched successful party brands like WEEKEND BLACKBOX SESSION and UDVD, and founded Toolroom Tokyo, producing events that have set new attendance records in the Japanese club scene.

Beyond his work as a performer and producer, Yuuki has had a major impact on Japan’s festival landscape. As Executive Director for EDC Japan from 2017 to 2019, he helped bring the internationally acclaimed festival to a local audience of 250,000. More recently, he has served as Executive Producer for GMO SONIC, Japan’s largest arena dance music festival. In just three years, the event has drawn over 120,000 attendees and hosted top-tier acts like Skrillex, Peggy Gou, Anyma, Martin Garrix, and ZEDD.

At W Osaka, Japan’s only W Hotel, Yuuki serves as Music & Entertainment Director, where he curates experiences that blend music, art, fashion, and culinary culture for a world-class clientele. His influence extends far beyond nightlife, with advisory roles in more than 30 companies across sectors like ultra-high-net-worth services, the food industry, art, hotel and resort development, education, blockchain, and NFTs.

Driven by a passion for creating meaningful connections through music and culture, Yuuki Yoshiyama continues to shape Japan’s entertainment landscape while building bridges to the global stage.
