It’s been an inspiring past few years for Zack Martino. The American DJ and producer signed with Amsterdam-, New York- and London-based record label Armada Music, thrived in creation mode to deliver a bunch of grade A records to the label and even went on tour last year, placing him in a new environment for weeks on end as his career moved into the fast lane. All of that just had to get the inspiration flowing, and it evidently did as Zack Martino brings to light his first-ever EP: ‘Reflections’.
Sharing a common dark sound that flows smoothly between all four records, the ‘Reflections’ EP shows how far Zack Martino has come as a creator. Spotlighting the innate allure and dance floor appeal of his signature sound through new single ‘Where Do We Go’ (with Luma) and three of Zack Martino’s most rousing productions to date (including the tantalizing ‘Something About You’ (feat. KiFi)), this EP makes for a great listening experience in any kind of dance music environment.
Zack Martino: “The inspiration behind this EP started on tour last year. This was the first time in my life that I was away from home for weeks on end and it filled me with a bunch of emotions. I fell in love, experienced heartbreak, was overwhelmed and at times felt alone. But at the same time, it was the best year of my life. I got to travel, see the world and meet so many amazing people along the way. My life was going so fast and I was getting lost. During the making of this EP, I had to take a step back and really reflect on what was going on in my life. It felt so surreal that I’m living this crazy dream of mine, but this is only the beginning.”
About the new single on the EP, ‘Where Do We Go’, songstress Luma adds: “‘Where Do We Go’ is about the endless sense of adventure we all feel when we fall for somebody new. When my co-writers (Notelle, Casey Cook) and I sat down to write it, we wanted to make sure we captured those heart-on-fire feelings always present in the beginning of something thrilling. We couldn’t be happier a song this special found a home with Zack Martino.”
Having enjoyed great success on the airwaves, young NYC native Zack Martino truly is a star in the making. Cultivating a unique and recognizable sound that continues to stake a claim in the dance music space, he was drafted in to remix Armin van Buuren’s ‘Lonely For You’, Galantis’ ‘Rich Boy’ and The Chainsmokers’ ‘Paris’ and more recently Loud Luxury and Bryce Vine’s ‘I’m Not Alright’, the latter earning him ten million streams on Spotify. His track ‘Hold On To Me’ was considered for a Grammy for ‘Best Dance Recording’ and reached #1 on U.S. Dance Radio and #3 in Billboard’s Dance chart. Another collaboration of his, ‘Doomsday’ with VASSY, hit #1 in Billboard’s Dance/Club Songs chart in October 2018 and was also considered for a 2019 Grammy award.
