Over the years plenty of celebrities have tried their hand at DJing with some only having a brief soiree and others sticking with it such as Shaquille O’Neal. So, here’s a list of some celebrities who get behind the decks that you may not have known about.

Simon Pegg

Simon Pegg

You may have seen Simon Pegg throwing records at zombies in ‘Shaun of The Dead’, but he also spins records as an avid DJ. From a young age Pegg was enamoured by music thanks to his introduction to it from his father who was a jazz musician. Over the years he’s grown an eclectic taste for music which eventually led him into the world of electronic music. As with most fans of electronic music, he found himself drawn to DJing and now has a shed dedicated to spinning records. Starting off by sharing small clips of his progress on Instagram, he’s since gone on to perform at many events including Fatboy Slim’s ‘All Back To Minehead’ event in 2025.

He has a diverse skillset as beyond DJing he also produces his own music and is an accomplished guitarist. His music has racked up millions of streams and his skills behind the decks have earnt him some huge gigs including closing Blizzcon twice and even supporting Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. He doesn’t shy away from his history on ‘Game of Thrones’ as he includes lines from the show in his sets as well as taking part in a series of events called ‘Rave of Thrones.’

Before ploughing all his time and focus into becoming the 2025 F1 World Champion, Lando Norris could regularly be found behind the decks. Formula 1 has a strong link with electronic music with huge artists such as Martin Garrix, Oliver Heldens, and Charlotte De Witte playing at several races across the calendar. This link created a friendship between Lando Norris and Martin Garrix sparking Norris’ interest in DJing. He’s been seen onstage alongside Garrix, playing sets in clubs, and even DJing at F1 parties.

Idris Elba

Idris Elba

Idris Elba has become more recognised for his DJing in recent years, but his DJing career actually goes back over 20 years. Before finding fame on the big screen, he was making a living as a DJ which is a side of him that’s front and centre now with huge performances around the world. He’s taken to the stage at iconic venues and events including Glastonbury, SW4, Hi Ibiza, as well as doing more intimate pop-up shows in random bars. In 2019 his talent for acting and DJing came together in the Netflix series ‘Turn Up Charlie’ where he plays a DJ trying to find his way back into the limelight. The series also showcased some of his own music as Elba not only DJs but also produces.

Hi I'm Mackenzie and rather unsurprisingly, I love electronic music. After over 10 years of blasting my ears with everything from Martin Garrix to San Holo, I've found myself forever digging deeper into this world. If I were to name my top 5 favourite artists I'd say Martin Garrix, Oliver Heldens, The Prodigy, Hardwell, and Avicii make up that list. Alongside writing I'm also a producer who makes whatever comes to mind. Big room house, drum & bass, hardstyle, it's all fun to dig into. See you out in the fields people :)
