Knock2 Impresses With Epic New Singl ‘dashstar*’!

Anyone who prides themselves on keeping a finger on the dance music pulse would be quick to namedrop Knock2 as an artist who is making moves—and then some. The San Diego native has already busted down the door last year, as he rightfully nestled his way onto a few end-of-year lists, including both Your EDM and Dancing Astronaut’s Artists to Watch in 2021. He also secured a plug in Run The Trap’s Top 20 Trap Songs of 2020, which he earned from the aptly titled ‘GEMS’ that etched itself as one of the most standout offerings from RL Grime’s ‘Sable Valley Summer Vol. 1’ compilation. Knock2 is staying on top of that momentum with his first appearance on Night Mode.

On his “dashstar*” single, he dips into his house-aimed arsenal to unleash a beastly house number that is slated to pop off, just as much as the featured vox intended. He opens up with a siren-call of a hook, as the luring voice rings out atop glimmering melodies and wall-rattling rave stabs. Soon enough, Knock2 answers back with a larger-than-life bounce powered by buoyant basslines, crisp drum programming, alarm samples, and a raw lead that will have heads losing their shit every single time it hits.

Within the last couple of years, Knock2 has strategically straddled the line between house and bass music—without ever falling prey to the perils of pandering. The chameleonic producer has been able to seamlessly switch-up styles from hefty house bangers to elbow-throwing trap slappers. He gained some notoriety early on with the release of his cleverly named ‘knockthisoff’ remix EPs, which saw him slanging flips of tracks from Kanye, BROCKHAMPTON, What So Not, Dog Blood, and beyond. Furthermore, he’s knocked around some quality originals that have taken him to esteemed camps from the likes of Dim Mak, Musical Freedom and more. With his hyped debut on Night Mode now falling into place, Knock2 is banging on the door with another reason why his name is one everyone will be saying in no time.
