ANIMATE Deliver First-Ever Ep With ‘Turn Of Mind’!

ANIMATE touches down on Insomniac‘s IN / ROTATION imprint with an insane three-track EP, ‘Turn of Mind’. The Arizona-based duo has been responsible for cranking out bangin’ bass heavy grooves for the better part of the last two years. They landed their first appearance on IN / ROTATION via a slinky house number called ‘IDGA’, which bounced its way straight into the second installment of the label’s ‘Rotate’ compilation series. Shortly after, they hit us with their sharp-edged heater ‘Frisky’, the lead single from their forthcoming EP, a three-tracker featuring two brand-new numbers, each equipped with their own unique level of lunacy.

Kicking off the proceedings is the aptly titled “Crazy,” boasting a chunky bassline that bumps relentlessly beneath metallic synth stabs and looped male and female vocal chops that take turns commanding the vibe. It’s a no-frills slice of bass house. Creeping in with a deeper and techier appeal is the second cut, “Disposition,” which spins a dark demeanor through a piercing cacophony of synth shrills that growl atop a solid shuffling rhythm. Closing out the affair is the aforementioned “Frisky,” the first taste the duo offered up from the package a month ago. It all comes together neatly in an absolutely mental EP that brings the pair of producer’s vivacious bass-heavy sound to life.
