Elrow

Elrow’s “Delusionville” theme took Amsterdam Dance Event 2025 to another level of sensory overload. Giant monkey marionettes, Statue of Liberty puppets, endless confetti, and beach balls created an atmosphere of beautiful chaos. Amsterdam Music Festival (AMF)

Lilly Palmer Presents “Bigger Than Techno”

Lilly Palmer’s “Bigger Than Techno” debut album launch at WestWeelde gathered her extended family of collaborators. She played her first ever back to back with her husband Egbert, trading sets with Joyhauser, Space 92, and Marie Vaunt, and a surprise appearance by dance music legend Armin van Buuren brought Palmer to tears as the pair closed the night together.

50:HERTZ Presents “TAKEOFF” Label Showcase by Space 92

Saturday morning’s 50:Hertz Club Train, a sunrise showcase for Space 92’s Takeoff label, departed Amsterdam Central Station at 5.30 a.m. for four hours of raving on the rails. Space 92 curated the lineup with Alan Fitzpatrick, Joyhauser, Amber Broos and emerging talent Yozē, who hails from Turkey and now lives in Berlin. The train’s carriages were transformed into multiple stages and chill spaces, creating a packed high energy journey with panoramic views and all the amenities of a full fledged rave.

deadmau5 Retires Cube and Prepares His First Album in 10 Years.

After more than a decade of redefining live electronic performances, deadmau5 has officially retired his iconic Cube stage show. The announcement marks the end of a visual era that shaped modern dance music production. Alongside the farewell, the Canadian producer revealed that he is preparing his first full-length album in ten years, set for release in 2026. The move signals a fresh chapter for one of electronic music’s most innovative figures as he transitions from the Cube to an entirely new creative direction.

The End of the Cube Era

First introduced in 2010, the Cube became one of the most recognizable live production designs in electronic music. Over the years, it evolved from a minimal setup into a 260-ton rotating structure featuring more than 600 LED panels and a 360-degree tilt. Each version of the Cube pushed visual and technical boundaries, merging architectural precision with real-time digital visuals controlled directly by deadmau5.

The producer confirmed that the Cube will not return for future tours, closing a chapter that has spanned multiple world tours and festival headlines. While no replacement production has been revealed yet, fans can expect a completely new visual experience when his next live show debuts at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on November 7–8, 2025. The event will mark the first official showcase of the new era following the Cube’s retirement.

A New Album and the Next Phase

Alongside the announcement, deadmau5 released “Ameonna”, the first single from his upcoming album. The track’s title references a Japanese yōkai known as the “rain woman,” and its sound reflects his early electro influences while exploring atmospheric and cinematic textures. This single gives listeners the first glimpse into the musical direction of his next body of work, which will be his first album since W:/2016ALBUM/.

Though few details have been shared about the album itself, it is scheduled for release in 2026. For long-time followers, this marks the end of a highly experimental period dominated by modular projects, film scoring, and collaborations under his mau5trap imprint.
