As we gear up for Amsterdam Dance Event 2022, we kick things off with the hotly anticipated results of 1001Tracklists Top 101 Producers.
Created in 2016 and completely data-driven, 1001Tracklists Top 101 Producers has gained quickly gained a foothold on the dance music scene and has since become one of the most highly-anticipated, deeply discussed, and revered end-of-year lists within the dance music scene.
For those who may not be aware, the Top 101 Producers showcase the artists whose productions have been supported the most by DJs around the world. It’s a 100% data-driven ranking, and something that is very unique in the music industry. In many cases, the artists in the Top 101 Producers receive recognition beyond what they can get from other rankings or beyond their current perceived standing as an artist, and 1001Tracklists takes great pride in providing exposure for those artists.
After taking the top spot in 2020 and coming in at #2 last year, French superstar artist David Guetta returns to the throne for the second time. Between his solo releases, future rave collabs with MORTEN, and underground Jack Back records, there’s no denying David Guetta‘s incredible output.
Switching places, Vintage Culture takes up the number 2 position, with Kryder closing out the top 3. The rest of the top 10 includes John Summit, Tiesto, James Hype, Armin van Buuren, Joel Corry, Nicky Romero, and Oliver Heldens. Other notable placements are Martin Garrix (14), Swedish House Mafia (15), Hardwell (24), Don Diablo (44), Afrojack (52), and W&W (99).
Although they may not be industry veterans, many rising artists staked their claim on the dance music scene and secured prominent spots on the top 101 producers list. Acraze secured the number 41 spot after a massive year with ‘Do It To It’, Öwnboss takes the 5th spot after his hit ‘Move Your Body’ blew up, and Fred Again caps off a monumental year with an 84th position finish.
