DJ Benz and Masterplus are no strangers to working with each other. Both based in Bangkok, Thailand, they have teamed up on a number of records, most recently ‘Push It’ and ‘Lies In Disguise’. With each and every release, the pair of artists showcase their willingness to work in a team and this leads to some amazing pieces of work, with each collab being just as good as the last. Now teaming up once again, they deliver in fine fashion with the powerful single ‘Dope’.
After listening to this single, we can understand why big acts such as Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Showtek are showing their support. A main room club heater, the artists use catchy and addictive vocals to grab your attention right from the start. As the single progressive, the pair take things to another level as they hit us with a jaw-dropping drop. Electro infused synths then take centre stage but the playful rhythm they use makes for an innovative style with a powerful bassline keeping the low end tight. Yet another amazing collab, these two are certainly artists to keep a close eye on.
DJ Benz is one of the brightest talents to come from Thailand. Winning the Pioneer DJ Championship Thailand in 2009 kickstarted his career and he now has his own DJ Academy and DJ Shop in Bangkok called B-Side DJ Studio. On the production front, DJ Benz has released on labels such as Tiger Records, Housesession Records, and Zulu Records, receiving support from the likes of Don Diablo, Richie Hawtin, Chuckie, and more.
Masterplus is a young and emerging talent from Thailand. He spins and produces a wide range of electronic dance sounds, including electro house, bass house, and modern tech house. He started DJ’ing at the age of 17 and producing soon after with his skills and youthful energy.
