Sophie Festival Returns To Málaga In 2025 With Open-Air Series

Sophie Festival is back this summer with its most expansive edition to date, transforming Ogus Park in Málaga into a six-weekend pilgrimage site for electronic music lovers.
Sophie Festival spans from June through September 2025 and will feature a tightly curated selection of artists across both underground and headline circuits, including Bicep, Ricardo Villalobos, Richie Hawtin, Charlotte de Witte, Nina Kraviz, Solomun, Helena Hauff, and ANOTR.
Málaga’s Ogus Park Becomes a Seasonal Home for Global Club Culture
Just ten minutes from Málaga’s city centre, Ogus Park offers an open-air sanctuary where nature and sound converge. This year, Sophie Festival expands into a hybrid format: three full-scale Weekender events and three standalone dates, each tailored to foster immersive audio-visual experiences. The modular schedule makes it easy for both international travelers and local music seekers to take part in individual dates or commit to the full season.
A Carefully Stacked Line-up with Something for Every Taste
The programming reads like a love letter to contemporary club culture. Bicep’s rare Chroma AV show will headline the Grand Closing in September, while other standout acts such as Overmono, Âme, The Blessed Madonna, and Maceo Plex bring depth and diversity to the billing. For those who crave the minimal, the obscure, or the cerebral, names like Raresh, Sonja Moonear, Octave One (Live), and Onur Özer add richness to the underground offering.
Highlights across individual dates include:
-
June 20–21 (Grand Opening): Solomun plays an extended set on opening night, while The Blessed Madonna and Chaos in the CBD take over the following day, alongside Mathew Jonson (Live) and Sugar Free B2B Fonte.
-
June 28: Charlotte de Witte, Enrico Sangiuliano, and tINI are among those filling out a heavyweight techno showcase.
-
July 18–19 (Special Weekender): Nina Kraviz and Maceo Plex headline the first night, followed by a rare back-to-back between Ricardo Villalobos and Raresh. Dekmantel Soundsystem’s curated set rounds out the weekend.
-
August 1–2 (Special Weekender): ANOTR and Apollonia step in with house-driven sounds, while Richie Hawtin and Helena Hauff take charge of the darker side of the spectrum.
-
September 6: Marco Carola and Chris Stussy keep things dancefloor-ready for the penultimate date.
-
September 13 (Grand Closing): Bicep’s AV/DJ set promises a fitting send-off, joined by Overmono and a closing lineup yet to be fully revealed.
uilding a Cultural Movement, Not Just a Festival
According to Sophie Festival Director Felipe Kuo, the mission is as much about community as it is about curation. “The goal is clear: to put Málaga firmly on the global map of world-class electronic music destinations,” he said. That vision is reflected not only in the line-up, but in the festival’s atmosphere—bringing together visual art, stage design, and sound architecture to offer more than just a party.
Tickets and Travel
Tickets for the Grand Opening are currently available at sophie.es. With the full season now revealed and limited capacity per weekend, early booking is highly recommended. Flights to Málaga from major European cities remain frequent and affordable, making this a top-tier summer option for electronic music enthusiasts looking for a destination experience.
Final Word
With a stunning location, a carefully balanced line-up, and a growing global profile, Sophie Festival’s 2025 season is shaping up to be a landmark for Spain’s electronic scene. Whether you’re chasing sun-drenched house grooves, deep minimal cuts, or immersive AV performances, this summer in Málaga promises something real.
