With many virtual festivals happening in the height of what would be the 2020 festival season, TLIH came to fruition as a result of a drive within the founders to help others while providing a platform that will allow DJs to perform and also connect on a personal level with their audiences. The festival is also collaborating with GEN Zers and millennials to assist in providing relief for COVID-19.
With a network of over 300 college students and alumni from over 100 colleges, TLIH is building a strong team and already has over 300 RSVPs to the event and over $1000 raised. The Makin’ Lemonade GoFundMe raised over $120,000 in two months as the organization works with 300 college students and recent graduates from over 100 colleges and universities nationwide.
The team has confirmed top DJs such as: Autograf, Firebeatz, Sevenn, Young Bombs, Teddy Cream, Marnik, Harrison, DJs From Mars, TELYkast, Keanu Silva, Marc Vedo, Futuristic Polar Bears, SWACQ, Adam Kahati, Squalzz, Chris Varvaro, Phzes, Syence, Facade, DOSK, Vaance, Little L3gends, Kayvian, Adey8, KILO, Who’s Calling, Tropix, Evan Wilder, WAVES, Charlie Hedges, and Gudfella.
Throughout the festival and in-between DJ sets, there will be music industry interviews and mini-performances by a variety of singers such as Meggie York, Robbie Rosen, Ian Matthew, Marielle Kraft, Kenny Greene, Dani Carra, WYATT, & Alexis Donn.
Music industry professionals will share their knowledge and perspective of the current state of the industry and discuss their professional rise to their current position. Music Industry speakers include Two Friends (DJs), Trademark (DJ), Ben Marienthal (Warner Music), Zach Elgort (Big Beat/Atlantic Records), Rachel Narozniak (Dancing Astronaut), Noah, Gopen (Honua Music), David Kaufman (Cinematic Music Group), and Justin Goldman (Just Gold Mgmt & Label).
Attendees will have an immersive virtual experience and there will be a plethora of additional talent and entertainment between DJ sets. Between the sets of all of these amazing artists there will be short performances, artist interviews, interviews with top music industry experts, and conversations with the team of Makin’ Lemonade that will deepen the audience’s bond with the cause, the artists involved, and spread knowledge about philanthropy and the music industry.
The team behind this three day event is composed entirely of college students and recent graduates led by founders Dylan Christie and Alex Corson.
“We wanted to put something together that was unique and would be special for the college demographic,” said founder Dylan Christie. “We want to make an impact as a generation and show the world what we can do and make a difference with COVID, while also catering a full digital experience to 2020 college grads who did not get to experience a full-fledged senior spring.”
“Making sure this festival is a fully immersive summer experience is pivotal for us. We are going to deliver an experience that truly will be unforgettable for college kids and all acts and brands associated with the festival edition.” – Alex Corson.
Tropix Like It’s Hot is set to take place July 24-July 26 Live on Twitch.
