This year, UNTOLD Festival hosted a contest for rising DJs and producers. UNTOLD Creators offered unknown talents to make noise, with the winner earning a set on the UNTOLD mainstage.

Romanian DJ and producer, Gome impressed the UNTOLD squad and their judges, winning the spotlight at the festival’s 10th anniversary. Starting his journey at just 11 years old, he came a long way, pushing boundaries and finding himself on the mainstage of the world’s third best festival.

The UNTOLD Creators Impact

As one of the few selected for the UNTOLD Creators programme, Gome had the chance to receive the best of guidance from industry insiders.

“We‘ve been meeting with a lot of mentors from Romania, actually, with PR managers, with people from the industry. They taught us a lot about the industry, especially with music releases, with social media and so on,” explains the upcoming artist regarding his experience with UNTOLD Creators.

Reflecting on the best advice he received during the programme, Gome states: “Trust the process, actually. It’s a long process, it’s a hard one, it’s a hard industry to get in, so don’t give up, never give up.”

Beyond mentorship, Gome also showcased his DJing skills and says his passion for music is what helped him stand out. His set on the UNTOLD mainstage proved it, as he blew the roof in front of a full arena.

“I’m still buzzing from the main stage set … I’m still getting messages [about the performance] every day,” mentions Gome looking back on his first big performance.

What’s Next For Gome

The artist is now working on an album, drawing inspiration from the likes of Martin Garrix and Alesso. He tries to combine “the big guys’ sounds” with his own vision to create a special production.

“I don’t know how to describe the best, but for me it’s hard right now to choose one genre to focus on, but I’m trying to experiment a lot of new sounds,” Gome explains about the album’s concept.

Various artists from Gome’s close circle will also appear on the album. “We are all passionate about EDM, so we are all working together for this album to get out,” he says.

While the LP is still part of Gome’s beginning, he has big dreams with his career. The DJ states he would love to play the greatest festivals in the world, but most of all, he wants to travel, see people smile, and help them forget their problems while listening to his music.
