After teasing fans all year during their live festival sets, bass music legends GRiZ and Subtronics today release ‘Griztonics II (Another Level)’ the long-awaited sequel to their 2019 collaboration.
Following the wild success of ‘Griztronics’, which saw the track create a viral TikTok trend and become featured in Fortnite, GRiZ and Subtronics’ most recent effort certainly lives up to the well-deserved hype. A two-year-long journey in the making, the track saw many different forms before reaching its final version, which fans may have a sneak preview of if they’ve been to a GRiZ or Subtronics performance in the past year.
A self-taught sound engineering savant, Subtronics brings his unique blend of cutting-edge sound design and hard-hitting bass to the track. Originally hailing from Philadelphia, PA, the Cyclops Recordings label head’s high energy sets and advanced mixing skills have sold out notable venues, such as Red Rocks, Hollywood Palladium, and Echostage. Calling ‘Griztonics II’ a “two-year long journey in the making,” Subtronics praises GRiZ’s “insane ear for ingenious new ideas.”
Multi-instrumentalist, producer, and self-proclaimed “Good Vibes Rainbow Boy,” GRiZ, is not only an inspiration to Subtronics, but to the electronic music world in general. His vibey upbeat future funk style is unmistakable in ‘Griztronics II (Another Level)’. “We knew we had to come with a dope sequel after having so much fun with “Griztronics I””, he said, “This song is mega donk ear candy energy.
