Mau P claps back at ghost producer claims with a detailed breakdown of how Just A Little Bit More was made

Mau P, formerly known as Maurice West, is no stranger to the pressures that come with years in electronic dance music. From his earlier big room releases to the rise of Mau P, criticism has followed different stages of his career. This time, the conversation turned directly toward his studio work. Claims began circulating that someone else had produced Just A Little Bit More. Instead of leaving the speculation unanswered, Mau P opened the project file and showed how the track came together.

Mau P Breaks Down Just A Little Bit More

Once the claims started spreading, Mau P answered them by opening the project itself. He worked through the drums, 303-style bassline, guitar and vocals while explaining how each part came together. The video keeps the focus on the session and shows his involvement step by step.

While the breakdown centres on Just A Little Bit More, it also brings his earlier years as a producer back into the conversation. Before Mau P, he had already spent years releasing music under the Maurice West name. That history began long before Drugs From Amsterdam changed the direction of his career in 2022. As the claims gained attention, Ilan Bluestone referenced an older video of him making a track in an hour. Hardwell, Agents Of Time and Diplo also backed him publicly.

At the same time, the official credits make the nature of the accusation important. They name Mau P, Robert Pronk and Tobias Wincorn as producers on Just A Little Bit More. Mau P and Robert Pronk also receive mixing and mastering credits. The debate is therefore about whether Mau P genuinely worked on the production, not whether anyone else contributed. Opening the session gives him a direct way to show his own work on the record.

From Maurice West to Mau P

Years in the studio had already come before the career change that introduced Mau P to a different side of electronic dance music. He left the Maurice West project behind and launched Mau P with Drugs From Amsterdam in 2022. Gimme That Bounce, Metro, Dress Code and Beats For The Underground followed as the new project gained attention.

By the time the breakdown reaches its final moments, Mau P has already made his point through the project file. He closes with “No shortcuts. There’s no shortcuts.” After showing the session and explaining the production, the line brings everything back to the work itself. It also explains why he chose to show the project instead of letting the claims continue unanswered.

More than a decade after he first began releasing music, Just A Little Bit More has brought his production history back into focus. Mau P has answered by opening the session himself and showing the work behind his current sound. In doing so, he reconnects the producer behind Maurice West with the artist he has become today.
