Michael Calfan Goes Deeper With ‘Could Be You’!

Following last year’s successful team up on hit single ‘It’s Wrong’, French deep house maestro Michael Calfan now returns with a beautiful end-of-year gem featuring UK singer/songwriter Danny Dearden again. ‘Could Be You’ brings deep rhythms and moody bass lines along with Dearden‘s inspiring vocals, resulting in a soulful, uplifting vocal house tune, drenched in sweet winter melancholy – out now on Spinnin’ Deep.

Known as quite the phenomenon, Michael Calfan has created a unique, soul-inspired take on deep house for himself. This has led to worldwide acclaimed hit records like ‘Treasured Soul’, ‘Nobody Does It Better’ and this year’s summer soundtrack ‘Wild Game’, featuring Monique Lawz. After releasing the Danny Dearden featured single ‘It’s Wrong’ last year, the pair is back again, this time deepening its collaboration with a more fierce house tune, blending dark chords with Dearden‘s pop and soul-infused vocals.

It’s turned into the best of both worlds, making for a record that perfectly soundtracks this winter club season as well as the international radio airwaves. This is Michael Calfan‘s self-proclaimed “soul house” taken to a next, deeper level.

“I had this instrumental for a long time and I always feel there was something special in it. So I went to London to write and record the song with Danny Dearden and my friend Kelli-Leigh. I had already worked with them in the past for another track. It took me more than a year to finally get a version that I was very happy about. I think this single perfectly reflects my sound: house-emotional-powerful. Hope you guys will enjoy it!” – Michael Calfan

“I love working with Michael, he’s such a perfectionist. ‘Could Be You’ came about during a writing session with us and Kelli-Leigh and we all knew, it had something special. I’m so excited about this release!” – Danny Dearden
