Founded in late-2018, Starred Records, owned by Milk & Sugar, took little time in promoting fresh up and coming talent, releasing over 6 tracks in the last 12 months. Finishing their first full year in operation, the German label tops of an incredible year releasing a fantastic solo single entitled ‘Dont Do That’ by Mikimoto which also features a delicious remix from Benny Royal.
Mikimoto returns to his house music roots after being in the festival game for more than 15 years as one part of Plastik Funk – together with his buddy Rafael. Born to Japanese and German parents, Mikimoto grew up between two cultures tied together by his love for house music. His productions emit rays of old school vibes blended with innovative sounds and grooves.
‘Don’t Do That’ is Mikimoto‘s second solo single, after his debut on label TONSPIEL in November 2019 along with a couple of remixes and a successful collaboration with Russian house don gotlucky. Showing off his infectious production skills, ‘Dont Do That’ features a memorable vocal sample combined with a groovy bassline and funky synths that are sure to get any dance floor up and moving. The catchy and mesmerizing vocal of ‘Dont Do That’ leading to a deep bassline drop making every listener want to move their feet.
