MOUNT And Emdey Team Up On Sublime New Single ‘Venus’!

Touching down on Universal Music / Virgin Records is the anticipated release from MOUNT and Emdey. As the pair deliver a stellar remake of a much loved and nostalgic track – bringing ‘Venus’ firmly into 2020.

Austrian artist MOUNT has risen to prominence within the electronic dance music scene thanks to the releases of several remixes and originals tallying up a remarkable 60 million streams in total combined. With official remixes for m83, Broods, Tom Odell, Milky Chance, and filous – he has amassed four Hype Machine top 5 spots in a matter of months. ‘Something Good’, MOUNT’s first original track, debuted at #10 on the Shazam UK Chart and has been streamed more than 35 million times since its release. It was also featured as the essential new tune on BBC Radio 1 by none other than Pete Tong himself and was subsequently added to the A–list on BBC Radio 1.

From that point on, MOUNT has shown no signs of slowing down, releasing several hits such as ‘Emelie’, ‘Bend Before We Break’, ‘Melody’, and the 2019 single ‘Fool’. MOUNT again graces our sound systems in style with the release of ‘Venus’ alongside Emdey, cleverly and elegantly covering the classic single ‘Venus’ by Bananarama and turning it into a modern dance-pop gem.

Emdey (formerly MD Electro), is the new project by Marvin Dörsam – hailing from Hannover, Germany. At just seventeen years old, Marvin had his first remix featured on a Ministry of Sound compilation – soon followed by a number of standout releases. Fast forward to 2016, he was then signed to Armin van Buuren‘s revered label – Armada Music. Exposing him to a unique creative environment – among the likes of Lost Frequencies, Tube & Berger, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike – to name just a few. Emdey‘s collaboration with MOUNT signals the start of an exciting new chapter and a sign of what lies ahead.

‘Venus’, which cleverly uses the lyrics from the previously mentioned classic track, gives off with elegant synth work that is quickly joined by the vocals. These vocals take center stage as they add memorability and singalong potential for first-time listeners. The single is then taken to the next level as MOUNT and Emdey incorporate infectious and unique vocal samples in the drop which is backed up by some wonderful synths and melodies. A true statement, MOUNT and Emdey open up their 2020 catalog with an incredible release.
