Swedish House Mafia Originally Scheduled To Close Tomorrowland Weekend 1?

Earlier this past week, Tomorrowland confirmed that the closing act for weekend 1 would be none other than the trio of Dimitri Vegas, Like Mike and Steve Aoki known collectively as 3 Are Legend who will be playing 15 years of iconic Tomorrowland anthems. This announcement led to many upset fans as rumors had the iconic trio of Swedish House Mafia as the closing act for weekend 1. Although the Swede’s were never confirmed to make an appearance, did Dimitri Vegas confirm that they were originally planned to make an appearance?

Towards the closing moments of the 3 Are Legend set, Dimitri Vegas thanked the owners, organizers and background staff of Tomorrowland. After this, he said “No matter what, what happens, whenever we get the call, we answer the call and we’re here for you guys, we fucking love you”. Due to the recent cancellations of performances by Swedish House Mafia at Ultra Korea and Weekend Festival, did Dimitri Vegas hint that the Swedish trio pulled out from their appearance and in turn the trio of 3 Are Legend were scheduled to take their place?

The closing act of Weekend 2 has yet to be confirmed with Swedish House Mafia heavily rumored once again to make an appearance. Is this a marketing tactic used by Tomorrowland or Dimitri Vegas to stop those rumors or to make a surprise appearance from the Swedish trio even more unthinkable? None of this can be confirmed however, but it has led to much discussion and debate online.
