What Happened To: Jay Hardway – Stardust (Vocal Mix)

Jay Hardway enjoys consistent success throughout the 2010s with the sounds fusing Progressive & Future House, achieving praise in the industry constantly when some of the artists had difficulties transitioning to new and different genres. One of the most acclaimed tracks of all time from him is ‘Stardust’ which was released exactly 5 years ago, accumulating more than 10M streams on Spotify.

The original instrumental mix was a huge success, and he quietly unveiled ‘vocal mix’ at SLAM b2b w/ Bassjackers in June 2016. Some avid fans wanted the track to be released, but unfortunately, as to my knowledge, he didn’t respond to any of the requests for the vocal version of this track. Jay isn’t known to work with many vocalists throughout his career, let alone collaborations, so I believe it is special coming from him. I couldn’t find out who the vocalist is but he surely is the one we are familiar with.

He kept playing this song every now and then, until the most recent set @ SLAM! MixMarathon Quarantine Festival in April last year. Certainly, I have come to believe he made this tune only for the sets and not for official release. All I hope is for him to release this version at the best scenario, or continue playing this track until the end of time or until he gets bored of playing this tune.
