What So Not documents Ukraine’s creative community in Kyiv with new short film and rooftop performance alongside Alina Pash
Following the release of his new EP, I SAW A TRAP DJ AND IT CHANGED MY BIO CHEMISTRY, Australian electronic music pioneer What So Not unveils a new short documentary and full rooftop performance filmed during a recent creative trip to Kyiv alongside acclaimed Ukrainian artist Alina Pash.
Documenting Ukraine’s Creative Community
More than a performance film, the two-part project documents Ukraine’s creative community and the artists continuing to make music despite the realities of war. Filmed during a period of intensified aerial attacks on Kyiv, the documentary offers an intimate look inside the city’s music scene through the eyes of those determined to keep creating, collaborating, and preserving their culture under extraordinary circumstances.
The journey begins as What So Not returns to Ukraine to continue his creative work with Alina Pash following their collaborations on “EVEREST,” “Candy Flipping,” and “Don’t Wanna Leave Yet”. During the trip, he recorded with Ukrainian musicians who remain unable to leave the country because of wartime restrictions, gaining a deeper appreciation for the importance of continuing to amplify Ukrainian stories, language, and artistic expression.
The documentary opens on the morning of July 2, 2026, as emergency sirens echo across Kyiv following an overnight wave of attacks on the capital. Against that backdrop, What So Not captures the contrast between uncertainty and everyday life – from studio sessions and preparations for a rooftop performance with Alina Pash to smoke rising in the distance, air raid sirens, and the search for shelter.
“I’m still getting over how normalized it is here. Coming straight to the studio after an attack and writing songs about throwing raves after curfew in underground shelters.”
From Studio Sessions To The Rooftop Performance
Throughout the film, viewers are invited into Kyiv’s creative spaces, witnessing studio sessions, conversations, and personal moments that reveal the resilience of the city’s artistic community. Rather than centering solely on the circumstances surrounding them, the documentary focuses on the people behind the music and the role creative collaboration can play in preserving humanity during times of uncertainty.
The journey culminates in an intimate rooftop performance overlooking Kyiv, where What So Not and Alina Pash celebrate their shared work against one of the city’s most recognizable skylines. More than a traditional live set, the performance becomes a symbol of hope and a reflection of music’s ability to connect people across borders.
Shortly after the performance, the documentary captures another night of intensified attacks, offering a stark reminder of the environment in which the project was created.
“I knew this was a possibility coming here. But it’s hard to explain the feeling of seeing it out the window, hearing the sirens, feeling the vibrations of the explosions. The rush to get down to a shelter. The uncertainty. The sleeplessness. Trying to make the most of it with a great group of people who live this every single day. I think in that moment I saw the true beauty of Ukraine – the people, their passion, and their resilience.”

The film provides deeper context for the collaborations featured on I SAW A TRAP DJ AND IT CHANGED MY BIO CHEMISTRY, revealing the relationships and experiences that shaped some of the EP’s most personal moments. While the project explores themes of transformation, connection, and human experience, the documentary brings audiences into the real-world environments and creative partnerships that inspired the music.
For Alina Pash, the project also serves as an opportunity to continue amplifying Ukrainian voices and sharing the country’s creative identity with audiences around the world.
The documentary arrives as many Ukrainian artists continue to face significant barriers to international collaboration. By traveling to Kyiv rather than asking collaborators to leave their home country, What So Not chose to immerse himself in the creative community that inspired the music – documenting not only the songs themselves, but also the people, places, and stories behind them.
The release further expands the philosophy behind I SAW A TRAP DJ AND IT CHANGED MY BIO CHEMISTRY, a project rooted in curiosity, connection, and the creative spirit that has long defined electronic music culture. Throughout the EP rollout, What So Not has prioritized authentic collaboration, intimate experiences, and artistic exploration over scale alone.

David Guetta & Hypaton – You and I, Me and You
David Guetta and Hypaton reunite on You and I, Me and You, a new single through Atlantic and Warner Records that had already been tested across David Guetta’s summer shows. The track pairs soaring vocals and euphoric drops with the refrain “Me and you, together whatever we do,” continuing the nostalgic dance direction behind their partnership. It follows their official version of La Bouche’s Be My Lover, which has passed 350 million streams, along with recent 2026 releases involving Bonnie Tyler and RAYE that have also reached tens of millions of streams. After a summer that included UNVRS, Ushuaïa Ibiza, the Monolith tour, Stade de France, and Coachella’s Quasar stage, You and I, Me and You opens New EDM Friday Sep 11 with one of the week’s biggest dance releases.
Armin van Buuren & Pete Tong ft. Poppy Baskcomb – Toca’s Miracle
Armin van Buuren and Pete Tong revisit Toca’s Miracle with Poppy Baskcomb, bringing the classic trance record into this week’s New EDM Friday. The release is listed as Toca’s Miracle (Extended) on Beatport, with Armin van Buuren, Pete Tong, and Poppy Baskcomb credited on the track. The original Toca’s Miracle became one of dance music’s most recognizable early 2000s records, making this version another update of a track that has stayed close to trance and club culture for more than two decades. For Armin van Buuren, the release follows another busy run of trance-focused records, while Pete Tong brings his long-standing connection to dance music history into the collaboration. With Poppy Baskcomb adding the vocal presence, Toca’s Miracle brings a classic name back into New EDM Friday Sep 11 through a new 2026 version.
Kaskade ft. Bobby Harvey & Sam Harper – Satisfy You
Kaskade continues the ORIGIN// rollout with Satisfy You, a new vocal-forward house collaboration with Bobby Harvey and Sam Harper. The track brings modern house and UKG influences into the album’s final pre-release single, with Bobby Harvey adding production and songwriting while Sam Harper carries the vocal. Satisfy You follows recent ORIGIN// singles including Meet Again with Natalie Jane and Layton Giordani, Comes Back Around with BUNT., A Little Bit with Crankdat, Runaway with GLOCKENBACH and Kaitlin Aragon, and Hear Me Now with Wooli and MAXINE. The release also follows Kaskade’s Coachella 2026 debut of the ORIGIN// live concept, where he introduced nine new songs alongside the next phase of his production. Dillon Francis – Cry Myself to Sleep
Dillon Francis brings a more emotional side into New EDM Friday Sep 11 with Cry Myself to Sleep, a new single through Monstercat and Broke Records. The track pairs a catchy vocal hook with euphoric production, turning heartbreak and late-night melancholy into something closer to his usual dancefloor world. It follows his recent run on Broke Records, including Make You Move, What It Feels Like with Daya, and RIDDEM with Allenora and America Foster. The release also comes ahead of a busy fall schedule, with upcoming stops including Gridlife Laguna Festival, Academy LA, Ember Shores, and DILLSTRADAMUS. With Cry Myself to Sleep, Dillon Francis brings one of this week’s more emotional dance releases into New EDM Friday Sep 11.
Tape B & Effin – I’ll Never Know
Tape B and Effin continue their creative run with I’ll Never Know, a new collaboration released ahead of Tape B’s debut album Ghost In The Static. The single brings together Tape B’s connection to classic dubstep and hip-hop influence with Effin’s use of detailed sampling, emotional songwriting, and nostalgic textures. It follows their 2025 collaboration Ups and Downs from Effin’s Daydreams album, as well as their unofficial remix of Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black, which has passed 651K streams on SoundCloud. Tape B described I’ll Never Know as their third collaboration since early 2025 and said the track has been a highlight of his recent tour sets. With Ghost In The Static set for October 2, I’ll Never Know brings Tape B and Effin’s shared bass, hip-hop, and nostalgia-driven sound into New EDM Friday Sep 11.

Tiësto brings back his legendary ‘In Concert’ concept with a four-hour stadium show at Legia Stadium in Warsaw, Poland, on June 19, 2027
Tiësto officially announced the return of his iconic “Tiësto In Concert” concept, slated to take over the Legia Stadium in Warsaw, Poland, on June 19, 2027.
The event is billed as a dedicated four-hour sonic journey through the Dutch legend’s vast discography. It will bridge the gap between his genre-defining trance roots and the crossover anthems that have dominated global charts and festival mainstages ever since.

The History Behind Tiësto In Concert
For longtime fans, the “In Concert” moniker carries serious weight. Back on May 10, 2003, Tiësto fundamentally changed the live electronic landscape at the GelreDome in Arnhem, Netherlands. Up to that point, DJs operated almost exclusively in clubs, warehouse raves, or festival lineups. Tiësto became the first solo DJ to headline an entire stadium on his own. Armed with an eight-hour set, live vocalists, classical musicians, and arena-scale production, he drew a crowd of over 25,000 ravers. The spectacle was captured on an era-defining DVD that proved electronic acts could meet rock-star scale. Demand was so high that he returned to the GelreDome for two back-to-back editions in October 2004.
The original 2003 event ran through the night from 11 PM until 7 AM, with Tiësto joined by guest performers including Jan Johnston, Skin and Dinand Woesthoff. The concert was also broadcast live in the Netherlands by 3FM and ID&T Radio.
Tiësto Returns to the Stadium in 2027
Now, over two decades after redefining what a stadium DJ show could look like, he is stepping back into that solo spotlight. Warsaw’s Legia Stadium is a venue capable of holding upwards of 30,000 fans for major concerts. It sets an ambitious stage for an artist whose career spans vinyl-only club sets to modern multi-genre stadium bangers.
The return also comes more than 23 years after the original Tiësto In Concert and more than 22 years after his two nights at the GelreDome in October 2004, where recordings show Tiësto once again played sets lasting around eight hours.
The announcement inevitably raises the burning question. Is Warsaw a standalone spectacle or the opening chapter of an “In Concert” world tour? With a full year of anticipation ahead, all eyes are on the Dutch master to see just how deep he digs into the vault.

Following another hugely successful edition of Creamfields they’ve announced their first headliner for 2027 with The Prodigy finally heading back to the fields.
Creamfields 2026 saw 80,000 people showing up for each day of the UK’s biggest electronic music festival and already they’re looking forward to 2027. Next year will be the 30th anniversary of Creamfields and they’re kicking off their lineup strong with one of the most influential bands of all time headlining the APEX stage. The Prodigy.
Their last appearance at Creamfields came in 2013 making for a painful 14 year wait for their return which will make their performance all the more historic. The revolutionary UK band has been headlining festivals around the world and recently completed a sold-out tour of the UK. Their ‘Warriors Dance’ tour of the UK alongside Carl Cox brought back that notorious 90s rave energy that everyone has waxed lyrical about for years. Their iconic hits like ‘Firestarter’, ‘Breathe’, and ‘Omen’ have been echoing across arenas making old school ravers and new fans alike charge headfirst into every mosh pit.
The Prodigy has delivered knock out performances around the globe and remain one of the most energetic and powerful live bands to ever grace the worlds stages. For Creamfields 2027 they’ll be stepping up onto one of the worlds biggest indoor stages as they head to the 30,000 capacity APEX stage. The trailblazing Liam Howlett and MC Maxim will be joined by their longstanding live members Leo Crabtree and Rob Holliday to bring the ruckus back to the fields.
The 30th anniversary of Creamfields is an enormous milestone and their making their intentions for a historic year very clear. If you want to make history you have to respect it and bringing in one of the most historic and revolutionary bands in history is the perfect start. Though Creamfields 2026 has barely been and gone, the anticipation for its next edition is already through the roof. With plenty more artists still to be announced and Creamfields’ ability to outdo themselves year on year, 2027 is sure to be another barnstormer of a year out in the fields.
