What to expect from 808 Festival Bangkok 2026 as the two-day festival returns to BITEC Bangna on October 2–3 with ILLENIUM, W&W and more

After more than a decade as part of Bangkok’s electronic music calendar, 808 Festival is returning for its 2026 edition, this time taking place at BITEC Bangna on October 2–3. The lineup announced so far includes ILLENIUM, SLANDER b2b NGHTMRE, W&W, Argy, Ben Nicky, Adam Beyer b2b Chris Avantgarde, 999999999 and more, bringing bass, trance, techno, house and big room across the two days. That mix continues a history of varied lineups at 808 Festival, with previous editions welcoming names including Hardwell, Armin van Buuren, Skrillex, Martin Garrix and David Guetta. Over the years, those lineups have helped establish the event as one of Thailand’s longest-running electronic music festivals.

What This Year’s Lineup Brings to Bangkok

Across Friday, ILLENIUM and SLANDER b2b NGHTMRE bring a strong bass presence to the opening day. Trance and harder sounds come through Ben Nicky and Nifra b2b Will Atkinson, while 999999999 add live techno. Ian Asher, Mary Droppinz and Mesto bring further variety. Together, the artists give attendees several different styles to choose from throughout the first day.

That variety continues into Saturday through a different group of artists, led by W&W, Argy and Adam Beyer b2b Chris Avantgarde. W&W return with the big room sound closely associated with their festival sets, while Argy brings melodic techno. Adam Beyer b2b Chris Avantgarde adds another techno-focused pairing. Giorgia Angiuli, KAAZE, Rivo, Justus and Doriann are also announced for the second day.

Part of the appeal this year comes from the three b2bs already announced across the two-day lineup. SLANDER and NGHTMRE share a collaborative history dating back to Gud Vibrations. Nifra b2b Will Atkinson brings together two established trance artists. Adam Beyer b2b Chris Avantgarde adds another pairing through two different approaches to techno. More artists and special announcements are still expected before October.

More Than a Decade of 808 Festival in Thailand

Since its first edition in 2013, 808 Festival has grown into one of Thailand’s most established electronic music festivals. Over the years, its lineups have included Hardwell, Armin van Buuren, Skrillex, Martin Garrix and David Guetta. Above & Beyond, Peggy Gou and Sara Landry have also played previous editions. Several recent years have taken place at BITEC Bangna, which hosts the festival again this October.

That history has included several notable moments for audiences in Thailand, particularly during recent editions at BITEC Bangna. In 2024, Anyma presented the Asian debut of Genesys, while Drumcode hosted its own dedicated stage. The Outlaw also made its festival debut during the same edition. That weekend featured Chase & Status, James Hype, Mau P, Miss Monique, Sara Landry, Zedd and Alison Wonderland.

Beyond the artist names, recent editions have also placed greater attention on the overall festival experience at BITEC Bangna. Large-scale visual production has played a major role throughout the weekend. Different stages have also given house, techno, drum & bass and melodic electronic music their own space. In 2024, 808 Festival partnered with Indorama Ventures on plastic bottle recycling initiatives across the event.

808 Festival Bangkok 2026 Returns Earlier in the Year

For 2026, 808 Festival shifts from the December period used in several recent editions to October 2–3. The event also returns as a two-day festival at BITEC Bangna. That places one of Bangkok’s major electronic music weekends earlier in the calendar than usual.

Alongside the change in dates, 808 Festival also placed No. 27 in DJ Mag’s Top 100 Festivals 2026. The result puts the festival two positions higher than the previous year. It adds another milestone after more than a decade of bringing international electronic music artists to Thailand.

With ILLENIUM, W&W, SLANDER b2b NGHTMRE, Argy, Ben Nicky, 999999999 and several other names already announced, October 2–3 already has plenty to offer electronic music attendees in Bangkok. More announcements may still come before the festival begins. For both returning attendees and first-timers, the artists confirmed so far give plenty of reasons to keep the weekend free.

deadmau5 takes over Red Rocks for Halloween on October 30 and 31 with two special shows and the return of mau5hop

For more than 15 years, deadmau5 has returned to Red Rocks Amphitheatre each fall, with the Colorado venue becoming a regular part of his seasonal live shows. This year, that tradition reaches a new point as he performs at Red Rocks on Halloween itself for the first time, with DEADMAU5 HALLOWEEN taking place on October 30 and 31. The two-night event will feature VOWWS, joined by Josh Freese and Danny Lohner, alongside special visuals, selections from deadmau5’s catalogue and new music. The weekend will also include the return of the mau5hop pop-up in Denver, with exclusive merchandise, collectibles and meet-and-greet sessions across both days.

VOWWS Joins deadmau5 For The Halloween Shows

VOWWS will join deadmau5 across the two nights, with Josh Freese and Danny Lohner also part of the performance. The Australian-born, Los Angeles-based duo of Matt James and Rizz have long worked across darker alternative and electronic sounds, with previous collaborations involving Gary Numan, Chino Moreno and Chelsea Wolfe.

Josh Freese, whose credits include A Perfect Circle, Foo Fighters, Nine Inch Nails and The Vandals, also appears on VOWWS’ latest album I’ll Fill Your House With An Army. Danny Lohner, known for his work with Nine Inch Nails and The Black Queen, will join the duo at Red Rocks as part of the expanded live lineup.

What deadmau5 Has Planned For Halloween

The October 30 and 31 shows will feature special Halloween visuals alongside selections from deadmau5’s catalogue and new music. Attendees are also being encouraged to come in costume across both nights.

The shows add a new chapter to deadmau5’s long history at Red Rocks, where his fall appearances have become a regular fixture over more than 15 years. He was back at the venue in 2025 for Day of the Dead, where he debuted new music and parts of a new touring production.

That period has continued into 2026 with ‘Science’ featuring Stevie Appleton, his first vocal single since ‘My Heart Has Teeth’. The track later reached No. 1 on US Dance Radio and also entered Billboard Dance/Mixshow Airplay and Canada CHR/Top 40.

mau5hop Returns For Halloween Weekend

The Halloween weekend will also include the return of mau5hop in Denver, opening on October 30 and 31 at 95 S Cherokee Street. The pop-up will run from 11:00 AM–6:00 PM each day with specialty merchandise, limited-edition apparel, pins and collectibles not available online or at the shows.

deadmau5 and friends are also due to appear for meet-and-greets and signings from 12:00 PM–3:00 PM on both days.

With the Red Rocks shows and mau5hop both returning across Halloween weekend, this year’s edition adds more around a tradition that has already become closely tied to deadmau5 and the venue. The biggest difference in 2026 is simple: for the first time, one of those shows will actually fall on Halloween night.

With VOWWS, Josh Freese and Danny Lohner joining the shows, new music expected and mau5hop returning to Denver, DEADMAU5 HALLOWEEN has plenty planned across the weekend. Limited tickets remain for both nights at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, with more from deadmau5 also expected in the months ahead.

David Guetta Crowned World’s No. 1 DJ

David Guetta crowned World’s No. 1 DJ in DJ Mag Top 100 DJs 2026 for a record sixth time

The DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Awards 2026 returned to [UNVRS] Ibiza on October 6, bringing the annual public vote back to the island for its live reveal. After taking the No. 1 position in 2025, David Guetta has done it again, earning the title of World’s No. 1 DJ for a record sixth time. This year also saw a record number of verified votes cast from 234 territories worldwide.

David Guetta Sets A New Top 100 DJs Record

That sixth title places David Guetta ahead of every other artist in the history of the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll. His first win came in 2011, followed by further victories in 2020, 2021, 2023 and 2025. Last year brought him level with Martin Garrix and Armin van Buuren on five wins each, while the 2026 result now gives him the record outright.

Speaking about the win, David Guetta reflected on how much electronic dance music has grown, particularly with DJs now playing stadium shows that were once associated mainly with major pop and rock artists. He also pointed to the new generation of DJs coming through and said seeing people dancing, having fun and enjoying clubs again has made this period especially exciting for him.

His own year has reflected that growth. David Guetta’s music added another five billion streams, while he became the first artist to reach 22 No. 1s on the US Dance Airplay chart. He also remains the most-streamed DJ on Spotify and regularly ranks among the platform’s ten most-listened-to artists across all genres.

David Guetta’s Huge Year On Tour

That success has also carried into some of the biggest shows of David Guetta’s career. His three sold-out dates at Stade de France in Paris shifted more than 240,000 tickets, with guests including Armin van Buuren, Afrojack, Black Coffee, Jennifer Lopez, Akon, Bebe Rexha and Black Eyed Peas.

His MONOLITH show also continued through major venues and festivals, including Red Rocks and Coachella, while Ibiza remained a major part of his summer. F* Me I’m Famous!** returned to Ushuaïa Ibiza, while Galactic Circus continued at [UNVRS], giving him two separate residencies on the island alongside his wider touring schedule.

More Highlights From The DJ Mag Top 100 DJs 2026

There was plenty of movement across the rest of the 2026 ranking too, with 13 new entries and three re-entries in the Top 100. Anyma climbed seven places to No. 3, Charlotte de Witte rose to No. 6, and Fred again.. jumped 17 places to No. 16.

Further down the list, John Summit, Mau P and Chris Stussy each climbed 22 places, becoming the first three artists to share the Highest Climber award. Indira Paganotto rose ten places into the Top 30 and became the first winner of the World’s No. 1 Psy DJ award, while Josh Baker entered at No. 40 as this year’s Highest New Entry.

Other awards went to Charlotte de Witte as World’s No. 1 Techno DJ, Armin van Buuren as World’s No. 1 Trance DJ, FISHER as World’s No. 1 House DJ and Sara Landry as World’s No. 1 Hard DJ. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike were named World’s No. 1 DJ Group, while Luciano received Outstanding Contribution and ANASTAZJA was named Future Star.

Top 100 DJs LIVE At [UNVRS] Ibiza

The live awards night brought together David Guetta, Anyma, Charlotte de Witte, Vintage Culture, GORDO, Korolova and ANASTAZJA for performances throughout the ceremony, alongside the ranking and award reveals. [UNVRS] hosted the event for a second consecutive year after becoming the home of the Top 100 DJs ceremony in 2025.

The event also continued DJ Mag’s partnership with Bridges for Music for a second year. By the time the results were announced, the campaign had raised £120,000, enough to fund the education of 120 students at the Bridges for Music Academy in Langa, South Africa. DJ Mag had launched the fundraiser in September with an opening donation from David Guetta.

For David Guetta, becoming the first DJ to reach six wins gives the 2026 result a very different significance from last year’s tie. Fifteen years after his first No. 1, he now holds the record on his own, during a year that has also seen him reach some of the biggest audiences of his career.

John Summit announces first European CTRL ESCAPE arena tour for February 2027 following major summer run across the continent

John Summit is taking CTRL ESCAPE to Europe in February 2027 for his first arena tour across the continent. The announcement follows a summer that saw him spend much of the season playing major festivals, club shows and Experts Only dates across Europe. His run included Tomorrowland Belgium, Ultra Europe, two Tofte Manor shows and a nine-date Experts Only residency at [UNVRS] Ibiza. The announcement also comes as the North American CTRL ESCAPE arena tour gets underway this month. The first date takes place at Bell Centre in Montreal on October 23.

Where John Summit Will Take CTRL ESCAPE Across Europe

John Summit will kick off the European leg of CTRL ESCAPE at COS Torwar in Warsaw on February 11. He will then take the tour to Brussels, Amsterdam, Berlin, Cologne, Zürich and Paris. Several of those dates will take place at major venues, including Forest National in Brussels, Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam and Zénith Paris. Ziggo Dome has previously welcomed artists including Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Prince and Armin van Buuren, showing just how big some of these shows will be.

Other stops include UFO im Velodrom in Berlin, Palladium in Cologne and Halle 622 in Zürich. That gives John Summit a mix of arenas and large concert venues throughout the tour. The announcement also confirms that more European dates are still to come, so the eight shows revealed so far will not be the complete run.

The tour will conclude at The O2 in London on February 27. John Summit already headlined the venue in September 2025 for his biggest UK show at the time. His return will now come as part of the full CTRL ESCAPE tour, putting one of Europe’s best-known arenas at the end of his first headline arena run across the continent.

What To Expect From The CTRL ESCAPE Arena Show

The new tour takes its name from John Summit’s second album, CTRL ESCAPE, which came out on April 15, 2026. Much of the concept draws from his own history as an accountant. The corporate theme connects his former 9-to-5 life with the freedom he later found through electronic dance music. The album even came out on Tax Day, adding another reference to the career he had before music became his full-time focus.

That same concept continues into the live production John Summit has been teasing for the arena tour. Early designs showed office-style windows and a stage influenced by corporate spaces. John Summit has also referenced Severance when talking about the visual direction. The contrast between an office environment and a rave gives the show a clear connection to the album and carries its central idea beyond the music itself.

The arena format also gives John Summit more space for new lighting, visuals and stage design alongside music from CTRL ESCAPE. The album covers house, drum & bass, dubstep, trance and other electronic styles, reflecting the wider range he continues to explore in his sets. John Summit has also spoken about keeping enough freedom to change things from night to night. That means the larger production does not have to make every show follow exactly the same formula.

John Summit CTRL ESCAPE Europe Tickets

Artist presale for the European tour begins on Wednesday, October 7 at 10:00 AM local time, with registration available through John Summit’s official website. Mastercard cardholders in Poland, Belgium, the Netherlands and France can also access a separate presale from 12:00 PM local time that day.

General ticket sales begin on Friday, October 9 at 12:00 PM local time. Eligible Mastercard customers in selected countries and the UK will also have access to preferred tickets. With further European dates still to be announced, the February run is already set to become John Summit’s biggest headline tour across the continent so far. It will also give fans there their first chance to experience CTRL ESCAPE on the scale it was created for.
